Rice played in only eight games last year, due to suspension and a late-season concussion, and still finished with five touchdowns. He’s logged just a dozen contests the past two seasons, with touchdowns in seven of those games. He’s Kansas City’s primary slot option, which bodes well versus the Broncos’ pressure. Mahomes will be looking to get rid of the ball quickly and Rice offers a dangerous short-yardage target. Denver got beat up by slot receivers last season, giving up the sixth most fantasy points to the position. Player projections for Rice sit as high as a 51% chance of a touchdown, which has me playing the 1+ TD as high as 40% on Monday.

We’re going to buy back the dip with No. 14. Last season, Sutton’s receiving yard totals usually sat north of 50 yards with peaks to 60.5 O/U. With Waddle on the field, oddsmakers have hacked those numbers to 40 yards. He’s had to deal with double coverage as the Broncos’ top target the past couple seasons and is now getting softer members of the secondary across from him. Sutton is a threat to pop off for a big play and Broncos offensive coordinator Davis Webb is now calling plays, looking to push the ball beyond the sticks. He was busy in last year’s matchups with the Chiefs, drawing eight and 10 targets for outputs of 59 and 40 yards. Kansas City’s secondary lost a lot of talent to free agency and projects among the worst in the NFL entering Week 1. Forecasts sit north of 40 yards for Sutton with highs flirting with 50 yards on MNF.

These offenses scored a combined 67 points in Week 1 and I don't expect the scoring to slow down. Buffalo averaged a ridiculous 7.9 yards per play against an elite Houston D, while Detroit's offense took their foot off the gas after going up 21-0 halfway through the third quarter. Both defenses showed red flags to open the season. Expect an offensive showcase for Buffalo’s stadium opener, with Detroit having the firepower to go shot for shot. Their most recent meeting in 2024 produced 90 points.

The Steelers are built for Unders, and the Patriots lack game-breaking talent on offense with wide receiver A.J. Brown (ankle) out and running back TreVeyon Henderson (ankle) still nursing an injury. Pittsburgh quarterback Aaron Rodgers completed just 60% of his passes for a pedestrian 5.6 yards per attempt in Week 1, and New England QB Drake Maye’s 5.4 YPA and 6.5 aDoT in the season opener don’t jump off the page, either. The Steelers also allowed the fourth-lowest EPA per play, with the Pats surrendering the seventh lowest ahead of Monday Night Football, so we’re landing a fair number on this Under given the lack of offensive explosiveness going against this pair of stout stop units.

While Wentz was serviceable, I see more than two points separating him and Murry in terms of value to the spread. That’s especially true if the Bears can break away on the scoreboard and force Wentz to carry the load. Minnesota’s defense is dangerous but gave up a ton of yards to the Packers. If we take the Cheeseheads’ fourth-quarter collapse out of the equation, the Vikes stop unit was 21st in EPA allowed per play in the first three quarters. Murray’s chances of clearing concussion protocols seems slim when you look at his reaction to the hit. Once he’s officially ruled out, this spread jumps to Bears -6 or higher. Give me Chicago below the key number now.

Stay Over up to 45.5. The Panthers answered all questions about their offense in the opener, and the Carolina defense didn't show it was capable of stopping anyone. The Panthers have set scoring records for the preseason Hall of Fame Game and the NFL Week One opener.

Stick with Atlanta up until -1.5. Falcons running back Bijan Robinson carrying the ball against a Panthers' defense that gave up a half dozen rushing touchdowns in the opener is a bad matchup for Carolina. Atlanta's offense could also get a boost if Tua Tagovailoa can return from injury.

The New York Jets averaged just 17.6 ppg last year and while Geno Smith is an upgrade at quarterback, I'm unconvinced that he's going to improve the situation all that much at age 35. Meanwhile, the Jets defense will get pressure on a one-dimensional Green Bay Packers offense that totaled just 66 yards on the ground against the Vikings. I'm backing the Under down to 42.5 points.

There's no denying it: the New York Jets looked downright competent in Week 1. Breece Hall ran for 102 yards, Geno Smith was efficient in the passing game, and the defense held the Tennessee Titans to -0.28 EPA per pass. At home, I like New York to cover against the Green Bay Packers as long as the spread stays above a field goal.

The New Orleans Saints looked dead in the water for the first 30 minutes of the 2026 season. They were 27th in EPA per play in the first half versus Detroit on Sunday before the Lions took their foot off the gas and found themselves in an overtime squeaker. New Orleans’ output looks better than it was, scoring six points in the extra frame (before missing the 2-point convert). The Baltimore Ravens hung 41 points on Indianapolis in Week 1 but took a hit in the receiving corps, losing Zay Flowers and Ja'Kobi Lane to injury. This group was already thin and could have Baltimore’s offense short and simple in Week 2. The Ravens ran at the second highest rate in the opener (58%), mainly due to protecting a big lead in the second half. But they could be forced into similar handoffs with the passing game missing pieces.

The Bengals got four takeaways and still had to sweat out the Bucs in Week 1. Houston's defense bounces back and that offense is improved and always strong at home. The Texans were 9 for 18 on 3rd/4th down conversions and went 4/5 for TDs in the red zone. Cincy finished 2/5 in RZ and needed a defensive score and four FGM (two 50+ yarders) to get to 33 points, despite those extra possesions.

For every matchup in an NFL season, our NFL computer produces selections for a variety of different betting angles. Our computer picks are based on a proprietary algorithm that values each team in the current week to produce moneyline, spread, and point total selections.

The table above, below the game picks, tracks our NFL computer's results over the last 100 games, outlining the record and profit for selections, based on $100 unit size. We track the profit based on both opening and closing lines for every matchup.

How to Use NFL Computer Picks

The easiest way to utilize our computer picks is to simply follow our selections for every matchup, what you'd call ailing the computer." But there are other ways to utilize our NFL computer picks, as well.

You can use our NFL computer as a jumping-off point to do more research into specific lines, cross-referencing with expert picks, which can be found above the selections for some matchups, recent NFL betting trends, and more.

As well, you can gauge the confidence of the matchup. The larger the projected score, the more confident the computer is in a specific pick.

Or, if you want to implement a system, betting only on underdogs, for example, you can look for matchups in which our computer likes the underdog to inform which picks you're going to hone in on for a given week.

We have these computer picks for every sport you're looking to wager on, as well:

Moneyline

NFL moneyline picks are the simplest way to get in on the NFL action. All you have to do is simply bet on which team you think will win the game.

For moneyline picks, the favorite is represented with a minus sign (-) in front of the odds, while the underdog has a plus (+). However, you don't get the same profit for picking an underdog compared to a favorite. If the favored team is -120, a $100 bet on them would pay out $80 in profit and $180 total, if they win the game. The underdog winning at +150 would pay out a $150 profit, $250 total.

We have a complete breakdown of how to read NFL moneyline odds for these NFL computer picks.

Spread

While moneyline picks are the simplest, picking NFL games against the spread is probably the most common wager for regular NFL bettors.

To bet an NFL spread, you wager on whether a team will win by a certain number of points or more or if they'll lose by fewer points than the spread. For example, if the spread is -6.5 for the New England Patriots, you would win the bet if they win the game by 7 points or more. Or if a team is +6.5, you're betting on if they'll win outright or lose by fewer than 6.5 points.

There is a correlation between moneyline odds and the spread, as books set these lines based on the same information.

You can read more about NFL spreads here.

Totals (Over/Under)

If you aren’t entirely sold on which NFL team will win or cover in an NFL game, you can still use our NFL computer picks to bet on the point total.

As opposed to taking a side, in total or Over/Under betting, you wager on whether both NFL teams will combine for a final score of more than (Over) or less than (Under) the total number of points set by oddsmakers.

The computer picks, and your handicapping of totals is more about how you think both teams will score points, not which team has the edge to win.
