Kalshi Referral Code: Use Code COVERS & Our Refer-a-Friend Guide to Earn Up To $1,000
Once you sign up to Kalshi using the code COVERS, you are eligible to create your own Kalshi referral code and earn rewards by inviting friends to the platform. I tested the referral flow myself, from sharing my link to tracking the signup and claiming the resulting credit.
My verdict: it is easy to use, but I would always check the live Rewards section because the reward amount, requirements, and expiration can vary by account.

Is there a Kalshi referral code?
Yes. Eligible Kalshi users receive a unique referral link and code under 'Menu → Referrals' or 'Invite Friends'. The code appears at the end of that personal link, but you enter the code manually while registering.
A new user who has a personal referral link should follow that route. Someone without a friend’s eligible link can instead read our dedicated Kalshi promo code guide and decide whether the COVERS welcome offer is the better option. Kalshi says a referral code can also be added shortly after registration, but only within 72 hours and before the account’s first deposit, whichever happens first. Once a code has been applied, it cannot be replaced with another one.
On mobile, I can invite people directly from my profile as seen here:

The opportunity to invite a friend is conveniently placed in my settings tab once logged in on desktop:

Kalshi welcome offer for new users
The Kalshi promo code COVERS is different. COVERS is the public code for the separate new-user welcome promotion, while the friend-referral program uses a code tied to an individual Kalshi account. This allows you to accessUp to $500 in Bonuses. Simply place an initial wager of $25 to get started
What does COVERS unlock?
Entering this code reveals the Kalshi welcome bonus of up to $500 in bonuses. The total value is randomized, with percentages for trading credits as follows: 70% of participants get $15, 24% get $35, 5% get $75, 0.65% get $100, and 0.35% get $500.

Kalshi’s latest guidance intentionally directs users to the Rewards section for the live amount, required activity, expiration date, and lifetime cap rather than promising one universal offer.
My Kalshi referral reward experience
In my own test, my friend completed $25 in trades, and Kalshi gave each of us $25 in referral credit. Remember, your account’s live Rewards card is the primary source to monitor for account status.

How to refer a friend on Kalshi
The referrer follows a different process from the new user entering the Kalshi referral code.
Check the current referral offer.
Open Rewards or Referrals and confirm the amount, your friend’s required activity, and your progress toward any lifetime cap.
Find your personal referral link.
Open the Kalshi menu and choose 'Referrals' or 'Invite Friends'.
Share the full link.
Send it by text, email, or direct message. I prefer the link because the unique code is already attached.
Have your friend register and verify.
Your friend must create an eligible account, complete KYC, and satisfy the trading requirement shown in their Rewards section.
Track the referral status.
Return to Invite Friends to see whether the referral is pending, qualified, or ready to claim.
Claim and use the credit before it expires.
Once the referral reaches the bonus-issued stage, tap the claim button rather than assuming the credit has been deposited automatically.

Here's a handy flow chart I made to help you better visualize the Kalshi referral process:

Kalshi referral bonus eligibility
You may qualify for the Kalshi referral bonus if you:
- Are a new Kalshi user
- Sign up with a valid referral link or code
- Apply the code before your first deposit
- Complete identity verification
- Meet the qualifying activity shown in Rewards
- Are eligible to participate in Kalshi’s U.S. referral program
Certain limitations apply. The offer is available to new users only, subject to the terms and conditions at kalshi.com/tc/500. 18+ only. Restrictions and eligibility requirements apply. Event contract trading involves significant risk and is not appropriate for everyone. Please carefully consider if it is appropriate for you in light of your personal financial circumstances. Kalshi products are not available in all jurisdictions. See kalshi.com/regulatory for more information.
Kalshi referral code terms and requirements
These are the most important Kalshi referral code terms I would check before activating the offer on one of the best prediction market apps:
- A new user must register through an eligible referral link or enter the associated code.
- The code can be entered during signup or added within 72 hours, provided the user has not yet made a first deposit.
- A code cannot be changed or replaced after it has been applied.
- The referred account must complete identity verification.
- The qualifying trading requirement is shown in the Rewards section and may vary by program.
- The referral amount can change between referrals. A lifetime referral-earnings cap applies, but the applicable cap is displayed in the user’s account.
- Referral credit generally expires seven days after it is issued unless a different period is stated in the live offer.
- The original referral credit is normally not withdrawable. Only eligible profits generated after using it may become withdrawable.
- Referral incentives are currently restricted to eligible U.S. users, even though the broader Kalshi platform may support users in certain other countries.
- A referral may fail if the code has expired, the referring account is no longer eligible, or the new user misses the application window.
KalshiEX is a CFTC-designated contract market, and Kalshi requires identity verification as part of its regulatory obligations. The referral page only needs this concise trust note; the full explanation belongs on the Kalshi review or legality page.
Kalshi referral code vs. promo code
It's crucial to differentiate the Kalshi referral code from the Kalshi promo code to understand the nuances. I break down the key features of each in the table below:
| Kalshi referral code | Promo code | |
|---|---|---|
| Bonus amount | Up to $1,000 in bonuses | Up to $500 in Bonuses |
| Sign-up method | Use an eligible personal referral link or enter the attached referral code | COVERS |
| Best for | Someone joining through a friend and an existing user who wants to earn referral rewards | A new user who wants a Covers welcome offer |
| Where to find | Referral link in the 'Account' section | Promo code shown above |
| When to use | Open the eligible referral link before you sign up | Enter during registration |
| Trading requirement | Referrer must meet Kalshi's eligibility requirements displayed in the 'Rewards' section, including transacting at least $25 | Complete at least $25 on Kalshi's Predictions product |
| Claim limit | Up to a maximum of $1,000 | One per Kalshi account |
| Offer's total value | Up to $1,000 | Up to $500 |
| Reward expiration | Seven days after issuance | Bonus credit expires seven days after it is granted |
How to use a Kalshi referral code
Here is the cleanest route for a new user who receives a personal Kalshi referral link or code.
Open the referral link
I recommend using the full link rather than copying the code manually. It reduces the risk of a typo and may populate the code automatically during registration.
Create a Kalshi account
Enter the requested personal information and complete Kalshi’s identity-verification process.
Confirm that the Kalshi referral code is attached
During registration, look for the option to enter a referral code on the birthday screen. If the link did not populate it, paste the code exactly as provided.
Add the code immediately if you missed it
On mobile, open the waffle menu in the top-left corner and select 'Add referral code'. On desktop, the menu appears in the top-right. This option disappears after 72 hours or as soon as you make your first deposit.
Complete the requirement shown in the Rewards tab
Do not rely on an old article or screenshot for the amount you must trade. Open the referral-bonus tracker in your account and follow the current requirement displayed there.
Claim the credit
Once the steps are complete, open the referral-bonus card in the onboarding checklist and tap the claim or unlock button.

Is the Kalshi referral program worth it?
I think the Kalshi referral program is worth using when I already know someone who genuinely wants to try the platform. It is not worth spamming a link or promising friends a fixed reward that may no longer appear in their account.
With my referral credit, I opened a position in Kalshi’s 2027 NFL Champion market. That gave me a practical way to test the credit on a market I already understood rather than throwing it at the longest long shot on the board. Kalshi treated the credit as trading funds, not cash I could immediately withdraw. Only the eligible proceeds after using that credit could become withdrawable.
My approach is simple:
- Claim the credit as soon as it becomes available.
- Check the exact expiration date before choosing a market.
- Select a market with clear settlement rules that I already follow.
- Avoid adding more cash solely because a referral credit is about to expire.
- Treat the credit as speculative trading funds rather than guaranteed profit.
Responsible trading: A referral credit can still be lost when a contract settles against your position. I only trade an amount I can afford to lose and always read the market’s settlement criteria before entering.
Kalshi referral program vs. sportsbook loyalty rewards
Kalshi’s referral program feels less like collecting sportsbook tier points and more like receiving a short-lived piece of trading capital after completing a specific invitation workflow.
| Feature | Kalshi Referral Program | Typical sportsbook loyalty rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Primary trigger | A friend registers and completes referral requirements | Ongoing wagering, deposits, missions, or status activity |
| Who benefits | Both the referrer and referred user may qualify | Usually the existing account holder |
| Reward form | Prediction-market trading credit | Points, bonus bets, profit boosts, cashback, or tier benefits |
| Reward value | Can vary by referral and account | Usually determined by a published points or tier structure |
| Withdrawal |
Original credit is generally non-withdrawable; eligible profits may be |
Depends on free-bet or loyalty-program rules |
| Time sensitivity |
Referral credit commonly expires quickly |
Points and benefits may last for a season or tier period |
| Best use case |
Introducing a new user to Kalshi |
Rewarding continued activity by an existing sportsbook customer |
The biggest difference for me is the withdrawal treatment. A sportsbook may give me points or a free-bet token, while Kalshi gives me credit that must first be used in its event-contract market.
Why is my Kalshi referral code not working?
I would run through these checks before contacting support:
- Retype the exact code: Check for an accidental space, autocorrect change, or missing character. The code is the text attached to the end of the personal referral link.
- Check the application window: The new account must be within 72 hours of creation and must not have completed its first deposit.
- Confirm that another code was not already applied. Kalshi does not let users replace or swap referral codes after one has been attached.
- Complete identity verification. An unverified account will not finish the referral process.
- Open Rewards instead of relying on an old requirement. The live tracker shows what the referred user still needs to complete.
- Check whether the credit is waiting to be claimed. A qualified referral may show as bonus-issued without appearing in the trading balance until the user taps Claim.
- Check the expiration date. An issued credit that was not used within its stated validity period may be forfeited.
What markets can you trade with the Kalshi referral code?
I can use the Kalshi referral code to trade event contracts on sports, including the best NFL prediction markets, politics, economics, culture, breaking news, and more.
The 2026 Midterms, in particular, have an extremely immersive experience on Kalshi that highlights available markets and real-time percentages:

Kalshi referral code FAQ
A Kalshi referral code is the unique account-specific code attached to an eligible user’s personal referral link. It is different from the public SBR promo code used for Kalshi’s welcome offer.
The Kalshi referral bonus is $25, up to a maximum for $1,000.
Register through an eligible referral link or enter the personal code, complete identity verification, meet the trading requirement shown in Rewards, and claim the credit through the appropriate referral or onboarding screen.
Yes, but only within 72 hours of creating the account and before making the first deposit. Once either limit has been reached, the code cannot be added retroactively.
The exact qualifying activity is shown in the referred user’s Rewards section. A deposit will generally be necessary when the offer requires the user to complete cash-funded trades, but readers should follow the live account terms rather than assuming one universal amount.
The original referral credit is generally not withdrawable. It must first be used for eligible trading, after which qualifying profits may become available for withdrawal.
To get $25 on Kalshi, invite you friend through your referral link.
