Jack Eichel and the Vegas Golden Knights will look to keep their point streak rolling when they skate into American Airlines Center to take on the Dallas Stars this afternoon.
Vegas is 3-0-1 over its last four games while earning a point in six straight contests, and Eichel has been a key part of his team’s success with 10 points over his current five-game point streak.

The Vegas Golden Knights cruised to a 6-3 victory in their last outing on Wednesday against the Blues as Jack Eichel took first-star honors with another goal and assist. The Golden Knights center has been heating up since late November with points in five straight games and has now recorded a goal in four straight outings as well.
Eichel is tied for the team lead with 12 goals on the season while shooting a very modest 10.3% — just below his career average of 10.7%, though he converted on over 12% of his shots last season. Eichel has been a shooting machine this year with 116 shots on net — nearly 30 more than any other player on Vegas while ranking fourth in the NHL behind only Nikita Kucherov (132), David Pastrnak (123), and Nathan MacKinnon (121).
Eichel’s propensity for shooting the puck this season has led to plenty of scoring success and it’s a big reason why I’m banking on him to pot another goal for my best bet.
The Vegas sniper will most likely be looking to put one past Dallas Stars netminder Jake Oettinger, who has been ice-cold over his last few starts. Oettinger allowed five goals on 31 shots against the Panthers in his last outing and gave up four on 23 shots in the game before that.
After a strong start to the season, the Stars goaltender has fallen off a cliff since mid-November, surrendering 23 goals over his last seven appearances and allowing at least four goals in four of those starts.
With Eichel coming in hot and Oettinger on a downswing, the Vegas center should have a good shot at another goal today.

I’ll lean heavily on the Golden Knights today as I look for an Eichel tally, Over 3.5 Vegas goals, and round out the same-game parlay by taking the visitors on the moneyline.
The Golden Knights have been scoring in bunches lately, putting up at least four goals in four of their last five games, and they should be due for another high-scoring outing against a Stars defense that’s fallen apart. Dallas has allowed 3.57 goals against per game over its last seven outings — the seventh-worst mark in the NHL over that span.
Vegas has also won three straight games vs. Dallas, including both prior meetings this season.

Golden Knights vs Stars moneyline and Over/Under analysis
The Stars opened as the clear home favorite at -140 on the moneyline, but I like the Golden Knights on the road at +124. Vegas occupies the top spot in the NHL standings and with the way Dallas has been trending, the visitors should have the edge.
The Stars were buoyed by strong goaltending early on but that trend has completely reversed of late with the play of Oettinger, who owns an abysmal .887 save percentage and 3.32 goals-against average over his last seven starts since November 18.
Dallas does own a strong offense, which could make up for Oettinger’s faults, scoring 3.44 GPG, but the Stars will have to run up the score against a Golden Knights defense that ranks second in the league (2.33 GAPG). Vegas has held opponents to two goals or fewer in three of its last four games and six of its last eight outings, so it’s difficult to see Dallas having the offensive edge.
The total was set at 6.0 and I think we’ll see these teams cash the Over. Both clubs have been piling up the goals in recent games, with the Stars scoring at least four tallies in three of their last four contests and the Golden Knights recording 4+ goals in four of their last five.
With the way Oettinger has been playing, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Vegas put up four or five on its own, so Dallas won’t have to do much to get this game to six goals.
