It's Halloween Eve and the NHL picks today are hopefully less spooky than yesterday.
Jesper Bratt is looking to haunt the Vegas Golden Knights' penalty kill, Seth Jones is chasing another apple against the Winnipeg Jets, and Chandler Stephenson is ready to keep the Seattle Kraken's offense rolling. These three props have the potential to turn a few spooky matchups into a profitable night.
These are my favorite NHL predictions for tonight, Friday, Oct. 30.

Pick #1: Jesper Bratt power-play point
Let's get the power-play card rolling today with Jesper Bratt of the New Jersey Devils, who has scored 45% of his points this season on the man advantage.
The Devils' power play hasn't exactly been a juggernaut, but the Golden Knights rank 26th on the penalty kill, and Adin Hill has been an average goaltender filling in with Carter Hart injured.
Vegas has also allowed a power-play goal in six straight games. Bratt's point prop is undervalued at just 55%, making it a great stack with Jack Hughes at 46%.
- Matchup: Devils vs. Golden Knights
- Time: 6 p.m. ET
- Location: T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nev.
- TV: SN+
Pick #2: Seth Jones Over 0.5 assists
The Seth Jones assist run has been a great time, and this might be the last chance to ride it as the price gets closer to fair. He was as long as 2.5x for an assist a couple of weeks ago and has padded the pockets of his apple backers. He has 14 assists over his last eight games and has registered a helper in all but one of those contests.
Jones faces a Winnipeg team that played the Tampa Bay Lightning last night and ranks 23rd on the penalty kill. I have him at 55% to record an assist today, and Florida's power play just scored three times against the Jets in Winnipeg three days ago. Jones had a trio of assists in that game, including two on the power play.
- Matchup: Jets vs. Panthers
- Time: 7 p.m. ET
- Location: Amerant Bank Arena, Sunrise, Fla.
- TV: TSN3
Pick #3: Chandler Stephenson Over 0.5 points
The Calgary Flames could be without their No. 1 goalie, Devin Cooley, who exited the last game, and this Seattle offense is a little underrated. The Kraken have scored three or more goals in eight of their last nine games.
Chandler Stephenson might be centering the second line, but he played 19 minutes — the second-most of any Seattle forward on Wednesday. He also led the team with 5:00 on the power play, where he scored a goal and added another assist at even strength.
Stephenson has recorded a point in 69% of his games this season, and that rate looks sustainable given his offensive opportunities. That's just a 58-point pace over 84 games.
- Matchup: Kraken vs. Flames
- Time: 8 p.m. ET
- Location: Scotiabank Saddledome, Calgary, Alberta
