The crown jewel of the Week 8 slate is an AFC heavyweight bout in Buffalo. Jason Logan gives his best picks for Ravens vs. Bills, with a heavy lean toward this dual-threat QB.

If every game on the NFL Week 8 board was a house decorated for Halloween, Sunday’s battle between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills would be the place handing out full-size candy bars.

Lamar Jackson is back for Baltimore, giving football fans just the treat we wanted: a showdown with Buffalo QB Josh Allen.

My Ravens vs. Bills predictions lean into that QB competition and what could be the most fun game on Sunday’s slate. Here are my best NFL picks for this AFC heavyweight bout on Nov. 1.

 TOP Pick
Ravens vs Bills prediction: Bills moneyline

The return of Lamar Jackson has understandably dragged down the market on the Buffalo Bills. That offers a better ask on the home team’s moneyline.

The former MVP comes back from an ankle injury just in time, as this offense was getting stale under backup QB Tyler Huntley. But Jackson isn’t 100% and his mobility will be tested early by the Bills defense, with the 11th-highest pressure rate per dropback. Baltimore's offensive line might not be up to the challenge, with injuries stacking up.

Making plays with his legs has been a huge part of Lamar’s success in recent meetings with Buffalo, rushing for 54, 70, and 73 yards in their three most recent matchups.

Buffalo has had two weeks to rest and prep for Jackson and the Ravens, coming off a Week 7 bye. That also allows the Bills to get difference makers back on both sides of the ball, including WR1 D.J. Moore and DE Ed Oliver.

Not only is Buffalo holding the rest edge, but this is its first home game in new Highmark Stadium in nearly a month. The last time the Bills were in front of the Mafia faithful, they were upset by the rival Patriots in Week 4.

A win over Baltimore puts Buffalo back in the driver’s seat of the AFC.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Baltimore’s offensive line is already in bad shape, ranked 25th in adjusted sack rate at FTN and 20th in pass block win rate at ESPN. Starting OLs Ronnie Stanley, John Simpson, and Olaivavega Ioane all carrying injury designations.

Ravens vs Bills combo

I’m siding with the Bills to pick up the win at home, leaning on Josh Allen to come through like he always does and for this Buffalo pass rush to make Jackson feel uncomfortable under center.

Allen’s nose for the end zone is incredible, and he’s scored four total touchdowns in his last two meetings with the Ravens. On top of that, he always uses his legs in the biggest games, averaging more than 43 rushing yards in his last 14 contests with spreads in the four-point range.

Ravens vs Bills combo

  • Bills moneyline
  • Josh Allen touchdown
  • Josh Allen 30+ rushing yards

Ravens vs Bills touchdown scorer: Josh Allen

The Bills quarterback comes to play in the biggest games.

Josh Allen is a one-man offense inside the red zone, and his ability to make plays with his legs or smash his way in on short yardage — AKA “The Snow Plow” — makes him a live bet to score a touchdown every week.

Allen already has eight rushing touchdowns in six games this year and rumbled for 14 last year, including two touchdowns against the Ravens in their Week 1 shootout. He also scored a pair of tuddies on the ground when Buffalo battled Baltimore in the Divisional Round two seasons ago.

Allen’s rushing touchdown temperature sees models sitting as high as 93%, with most projections parked at 80% or higher.
