More Week 10 college football picks and predictions

Noon ET kickoffs

BYU vs. Utah

  • Kickoff: Noon
  • TV: ABC
  • Analyst: Rob Paul

Top pick: Utah -4.5

Undefeated Utah hosts BYU at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City in the first Holy War where both teams rank in the top 10.

Rob Paul's BYU vs. Utah prediction and picks back the Utes to cover, citing a defense that ranks in the top 20 in points allowed per opportunity (2.70) and a team that has covered in seven of eight games. BYU running back LJ Martin is unlikely to play much. Paul also likes the Over.

Texas vs. Missouri

Top pick: Missouri +2.5

Chris Hatfield's Texas vs. Missouri prediction and picks fade a banged-up Texas offense in Columbia, Mo. Receivers Cam Coleman and Ryan Wingo are questionable, left tackle Trevor Goosby is out, and quarterback Arch Manning was already producing -0.04 EPA per dropback with all three in the lineup.

Missouri is 4-0 at home, winning those games by an average of 24.8 points. Hatfield also likes the Under 43.5.

Afternoon kickoffs

Texas A&M vs. South Carolina

Top pick: Texas A&M +6.5

Nick Galaida's Texas A&M vs. South Carolina prediction and picks call this a buy-low spot on the Aggies. Three turnovers turned a 20-17 fourth-quarter lead into a loss to Alabama, while South Carolina's wins over Florida and Tennessee were closer than the scores suggest, with net-yardage edges of only +6 and +24.

Texas A&M's defense gives it a path to a low-scoring game in Columbia, S.C., and Galaida also likes the Under 51.5.

Cincinnati vs. Houston

Top pick: Houston -10.5

Colby Marchio's Cincinnati vs. Houston prediction and picks expect Houston to bounce back from its loss to Utah. Cincinnati ranks 133rd of 138 teams in yards allowed per game, while Houston ranks in the top 40 nationally in points, yards, and yards per play.

Marchio calls the Cougars playable up to -13.5 and also likes the Over 62.5.

Alabama vs. LSU

  • Kickoff: 3:30 p.m.
  • TV: ABC
  • Analyst: Rob Paul

Top pick: LSU -5.5

Rob Paul's Alabama vs. LSU prediction and picks side with the Tigers' defense in Baton Rouge, La. Alabama is averaging just 13.5 points per game against defenses ranked in the top 20 by SP+, and LSU's defense ranks sixth.

LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt ranks fourth nationally in QBR (85.3). Paul would play the Tigers up to -6.5 and also likes the Under 52.5.

Oregon vs. Ohio State

Top pick: Ohio State -7.5

Nick Galaida's Oregon vs. Ohio State prediction and picks expect the Buckeyes to bounce back from last week's loss to USC at Ohio Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. Backup quarterback Luke Fahey completed 15 of 25 passes from a clean pocket against the Trojans, and starter Julian Sayin remains out with an elbow injury.

Oregon allowed 456 yards to Northwestern last week. Galaida also likes the Over 45.5.

Evening kickoffs

Kentucky vs. Tennessee

Top pick: Tennessee -6.5

Kentucky sits sixth in the CFP rankings, but Jason Ence's Kentucky vs. Tennessee prediction and picks go against his heart and back the Volunteers in Knoxville, Tenn. Tennessee's pass rush ranks second nationally in sack rate, while Kentucky's offense ranks 101st in extending drives.

Ence also likes the Under 49.5.

Miami vs. Notre Dame

  • Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.
  • TV: NBC
  • Analyst: Rob Paul

Top pick: Miami +7.5

No. 1 Miami is a touchdown-plus underdog at Notre Dame Stadium in Notre Dame, Ind., after the Hurricanes lost Malachi Toney to a practice injury. The line moved from 5.5 to 7.5.

Rob Paul's Miami vs. Notre Dame prediction and picks still back Miami to cover. Quarterback Darian Mensah leads the country in QBR (90.3), and Notre Dame is without linebacker Drayk Bowen, safety Tae Johnson, and cornerback DJ McKinney. Paul also likes the Over 54.5.

Air Force vs. Army

  • Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.
  • TV: CBS
  • Analyst: Ed Scimia

Top pick: Over 46.5

Two service academies with leaky defenses meet at Michie Stadium in West Point, N.Y. Ed Scimia's Air Force vs. Army prediction and picks expect both teams to run the ball at will. Army ranks 136th of 138 FBS teams in adjusted defensive EPA per play but leads the nation in rushing yards (342.5 per game).

Scimia likes the Over up to 48.5 and leans Air Force to win outright, though quarterback Evan Medders (turf toe) has not been ruled out.

Georgia vs. Ole Miss

  • Kickoff: 7:30 p.m.
  • TV: ABC
  • Analyst: Rob Paul

Top pick: Georgia -3.5

Rob Paul's Georgia vs. Ole Miss prediction and picks back the Bulldogs on the road at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford, Miss. Georgia's defense ranks second by SP+, and Ole Miss is without running back Kewan Lacy, which lets Georgia focus on quarterback Trinidad Chambliss.

Paul would play Georgia up to -6.5 and also likes the Under 56.5.

Michigan State vs. Michigan

Top pick: Michigan State +13.5

Geoff Clark's Michigan State vs. Michigan prediction and picks take the points in Ann Arbor, Mich. Michigan ranks 115th nationally in points per game, and the Wolverines are 1-4 against the spread in Big Ten games.

Clark would take Michigan State down to +10.5 and also likes the Over 39.5.

Oklahoma vs. Florida

  • Kickoff: 7:45 p.m.
  • TV: SEC Network
  • Analyst: JD Yonke

Top pick: Florida -6.5

Two struggling teams meet at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Fla. JD Yonke's Oklahoma vs. Florida prediction and picks call this a buy-low spot on the Gators, who have lost three of their last four games to opponents with a combined 18-6 record.

Oklahoma is changing play-callers, with Jason Witten calling plays for the first time at the college level, and quarterback John Mateer has thrown 13 touchdown passes and seven interceptions. Yonke would lay the points at -7 or better and also likes the Under 46.5.

Late-night kickoffs

West Virginia vs. Texas Tech

Top pick: Texas Tech -17.5

Geoff Clark's West Virginia vs. Texas Tech prediction and picks lean on the Red Raiders' record under coach Joey McGuire: 8-2 against the spread after a bye week and 4-0 as favorites of 14 points or more in conference games. West Virginia's defense ranks 131st in success rate allowed.

Texas Tech is at home in Lubbock, Texas, and Clark also likes the Under 65.5.
