One of the best rivalries in college football renews this afternoon at Neyland Stadium, and our Alabama vs. Tennessee AI picks favor the No. 6 Crimson Tide in a close road win when they visit the No. 14 Volunteers today at 3:30 pm ET (ABC) in Knoxville, Tenn.

Our model projects a 33-25 Alabama win as part of our college football AI predictions for Week 7, putting us on Tennessee +9.5 and Over 53.5. Below, we break down our game picks and anytime touchdown selection, then compare our ATS pick with the Covers projections and expert pick for this matchup.

Tennessee’s pass rush can keep this closer than Alabama would like. The Vols lead the country with 25 sacks, and the Tide will be without leading receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams. That puts more pressure on Keelon Russell to find an answer before the pocket collapses. Rob Paul’s Alabama vs. Tennessee prediction backs Alabama -7.5, leaning on the Tide’s advantage at quarterback. Our model also favors Alabama, but an eight-point margin leaves Tennessee inside the original +9.5. We need those extra points; this forecast does not support Tennessee +7.5.

The Over 53.5 depends on Tennessee doing its share of the scoring. George MacIntyre threw for 247 yards in his first start, but his two interceptions against Arkansas show the risk of asking him to carry the offense. DeSean Bishop gives the Vols another way to sustain drives, with his workload central to Colby Marchio’s Alabama vs. Tennessee props. Our 58-point forecast needs that balance to hold up. If Alabama shuts down the run and forces MacIntyre into obvious passing situations, both Tennessee +9.5 and the Over become harder to cash.

DeSean Bishop is Tennessee’s best route to the end zone. He has rushed for 678 yards and eight touchdowns through six games, scoring in nine of his last 10 appearances dating back to last season. He also handled 19 carries for 138 yards against Arkansas, including the winning touchdown. That workload gives him chances to finish drives and break a long run without relying on Tennessee’s unsettled passing game. Our 25-point forecast for the Vols leaves him firmly in the scoring picture.

Alabama ranks ninth nationally in defensive rushing success rate, so this is a much tougher assignment than last week. Bishop needs Tennessee to stay close enough to keep feeding him. Colby Marchio targets a first-half score in his Alabama vs. Tennessee touchdown picks; our selection is the full-game anytime market at 65% on ProphetX. That gives Bishop the entire afternoon, including any late possessions in a game our model expects to remain within one score.

How our college football AI predictions work

We forecast college football scores with the project’s custom Bayesian model. It uses past game results, distinct ratings for each team’s offense and defense, home-field effects, and the scoring patterns found in college football. This matchup carries forward our published Week 7 forecast.

Each score projection is locked before we compare it with the selected full-game spread and total to derive the ATS and Over/Under picks. Market prices do not change the forecast. We retain the original Tennessee +9.5 and Over 53.5 selections for this matchup.

Kalshi and ProphetX percentages reflect their markets, separate from our score forecast. The touchdown pick draws on player production and matchup analysis. We publicly track the published score predictions, ATS picks, and Over/Under selections against their original lines for every prediction each week.
