Expert Week 7 CFB ATS picks

Ohio State (-3.5) vs. Indiana: Ohio State Ohio State -3.5

Indiana has been pushed to the brink by Nebraska and Northwestern in recent weeks, and while these teams may grade out similarly on paper, Ohio State's offense should be the most trusted unit on the field. Led by Jeremiah Smith, the Buckeyes rank second nationally in yards per attempt, fourth in yards per play, and fifth in scoring offense, giving them the firepower to avenge last year's Big Ten title game loss.

Florida vs. Texas (-10.5): Florida Florida +10.5

For some weird reason, I'm not ready to write Florida off just yet, and it helps that Texas is far from world-beaters. Three turnovers were the Gators' undoing against South Carolina, as they were only outgained by six yards and had two fewer first downs. With Texas still limited on offense (3-for-14 on third down last week), I'm taking the points.

Auburn vs. Georgia (-20.5): Georgia Georgia -20.5

This matchup may scream letdown for Georgia, but Auburn may just be dead on arrival. The Tigers scored just 14 points in their first road matchup at Tennessee last week, and they'll have nothing to hang their hat on against a stout Georgia defense that ranks top 20 in a laundry list of defense metrics. Oh, and the Bulldogs average 53 points per game at home, going 3-1 ATS in those four blowout wins.

Alabama (-9.5) vs. Tennessee: Tennessee Tennessee +9.5

Alabama is much more susceptible to a letdown this week, and it doesn't help that Ryan Coleman-Williams is expected to miss this game with a combination of leg and head injuries. That limits Bama's offense, particularly on the road against a Vols defense allowing just 17 points per game against SEC opponents this season. Take the points.

Missouri vs. Ole Miss (-5.5): Mississippi Ole Miss -5.5

Back-to-back wins have Missouri trending up in the SEC, but the Tigers now hit the road for their toughest game of the season thus far. Ole Miss spanked Vanderbilt 52-17 on the other side of a much-needed bye week, and with Kewan Lacy ramping back up from injury, it's full steam ahead for the Rebels.

Notre Dame (-9.5) vs. BYU: Notre Dame Notre Dame -9.5

The story of this game will be told on the ground, and plays into Notre Dame's hands. BYU's 5.8 yards per carry ranks fourth in the nation, but they won't have that success against an Irish defense that allows a third-best 2.1 yards per carry and just 58.3 yards per game on the ground.

Wisconsin vs. UCLA (-2.5): Wisconsin Wisconsin +2.5

Wisconsin has looked extremely competent lately. The Badgers have won four straight games, have covered in three straight, and are catching UCLA in a very tricky spot. The Bruins will have to fend off a serious letdown after taking down Oregon on the road, and Nico Iameleava's leg injury looms large. With him officially ruled out, UCLA will struggle against a Wisconsin defense that leads the nation in yards per play and ranks fifth in yards per game.

Kentucky vs. Oklahoma (-6.5): Kentucky Kentucky +6.5

Kentucky is up to 5-1 ATS this season and has won outright as an underdog three times already. Oklahoma and its 106th-ranked offense in yards per play will not buck that trend and should not be trusted to cover a touchdown in a game I think is much closer to a coin-flip.
