We all love backing guys to find the end zone, so let's dive into my Alabama vs. Tennessee anytime touchdown scorer predictions and find a couple of guys worth dabbling on.
Keelon Russell is part of my favorite Alabama vs. Tennessee predictions for Saturday, Oct. 17. Before you dive in, be sure to check out all of our college football picks for Week 7.
Best Alabama vs Tennessee touchdown picks
Alabama touchdown pick: Keelon Russell (-125)
I liked him last week against Georgia, but he fell short. He still managed to rush for over 40 yards, including a big 22-yard run.
I expect Alabama sophomore quarterback Keelon Russell to air it out a bit more in this ball game, but given his athleticism and mobility, I still envision a red-zone scramble into the end zone.
The star quarterback has recorded a rushing touchdown in every game in which he threw for more than 200 yards. I already love his passing yards prop this weekend, as I explained in my Alabama vs. Tennessee props, so I'm willing to double down on him finding the end zone with his legs.
There will likely be a million boosts available for this matchup, so do your best to get this prop to plus money. However, $1.25 is the most I'd pay for this.
Tennessee touchdown pick: DeSean Bishop 1H Touchdown (+145)
If you want to pay $1.80 for Tennessee Volunteers star running back DeSean Bishop to score a touchdown, be my guest. However, paying more than -125 for a touchdown prop is a little much, in my opinion.
With how run-heavy the Volunteers have been this season, they should lean into their strengths early, and that means running the football. More than 60% of Tennessee's plays this season have come on the ground, and with Bishop averaging more than 100 rushing yards per game, he should be carrying the load early.
With Tennessee likely playing from behind, as the spread indicates, the second half could feature a more pass-heavy approach. That makes the first half the best opportunity for Bishop to find paydirt.
Long-shot touchdown pick: Mike Matthews (+215)
With the spread alluding to the Volunteers playing from behind, they will likely be forced to air it out in this one. Mike Matthews could be the guy this Tennessee offense turns to when it needs a big play.
The junior receiver has the second-most receptions on the team this season while leading the Volunteers in yards per catch, averaging 18 yards per reception. Matthews hasn't found the end zone since Sept. 26, but he's still delivered some explosive plays. He hauled in a 33-yard catch against Arkansas and a 42-yarder against Auburn.
When the Volunteers need a big play, Matthews is their guy.
Alabama vs Tennessee touchdown combo
Pairing all three props together would get you roughly an 11-to-1 payout. However, if you are going to parlay them together, I'd play it a little safer by taking Bishop's anytime touchdown prop over his first-half prop. Even with that adjustment, all three players to score still comes in at +750!
