Backed by a flawless 13-0 ATS record following a loss, the Panthers head to Lambeau Field intent on spoiling the night and pulling off a statement prime-time upset.

History says don't write off Carolina after a defeat: the Panthers enter tonight’s TNF matchup riding a remarkable 13 consecutive ATS covers following an outright loss.

Heading into Lambeau Field as 3.5-point underdogs, Bryce Young and the offense have plenty of cover equity in my Panthers vs. Packers prediction to keep this contest within a field goal.

Let’s dive into my NFL picks for the Week 8 opener, airing at 8:15 p.m. ET (Prime Video) on Thursday, Oct. 29.

Top Pick
Panthers vs Packers prediction: Panthers +3.5

My favorite active betting trend is on the line: the Carolina Panthers are 13-0 ATS in their last 13 games following an outright loss. I’ll happily back them again down to +3.

They just got obliterated 43-13 by Tampa Bay, but remember last season? Carolina followed a 31-point home loss to Buffalo by winning outright at Lambeau Field as a 13.5-point underdog.

Conveniently, the Green Bay Packers are 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 after an outright loss and 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 as a favorite.

Green Bay holds a slight edge in net yards per play, but barely escaped lesser competition earlier this season, beating the Bucs and Jets by just three points each.

No one bounces back like the Panthers. Give me the points!

Panthers vs Packers combo

Carolina’s 13-0 ATS run after outright losses gets this combo started.

Remember what happened in the Packers’ last Thursday home appearance as a favorite? They completely no-showed, getting manhandled 35-14 by Atlanta back in Week 3.

For the Under, Green Bay’s last four games have averaged just 35.5 combined points, while Carolina’s last six road games didn’t even reach 40. Our AI-powered Panthers vs. Packers score prediction also projects a low-scoring game, landing on a 43-point total.

We don’t need an offensive explosion to cash the touchdown leg, either. Chuba Hubbard has six scores in six games, and one trip to the end zone fits nicely with a competitive game that stays below this total. Hubbard also shows up in the touchdown combo in our Panthers vs. Packers parlays and top combo picks.

Panthers vs Packers combo

  • Panthers +3.5
  • Under 47.5
  • Chuba Hubbard anytime touchdown

Panthers vs Packers touchdown scorer: Chuba Hubbard

Green Bay has already surrendered 10 touchdowns to running backs, giving us another reason to like Carolina’s lead back near the goal line. Our Panthers vs. Packers anytime touchdown scorer predictions also list Hubbard as the lead pick.

I also absolutely love that he’s coming off a light day against Tampa Bay, finishing with just seven carries. The blowout was ugly, but avoiding another heavy workload is a nice bonus heading into Thursday’s quick turnaround, and our Panthers vs. Packers computer picks project him for roughly 75 rushing yards.

Panthers vs Packers player prop: Bryce Young 250+ passing yards

One ugly afternoon doesn’t erase what looks like a breakout season for Young. Before last week’s disaster, he had cleared 250 passing yards in all five games to start the season, averaging 309.8 yards through the air.

Green Bay’s passing defense numbers deserve some schedule context, too. The Packers have faced Tyson Bagent, Case Keenum, undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels, and Geno Smith, as well as a Minnesota team that turned to Carson Wentz off the bench.

This hasn’t exactly been a weekly parade of elite passing attacks.
