NFL Week 8 AI predictions and analysis
Panthers vs Packers AI prediction
THU · 8:15 p.m. ET · Prime VideoMore analysis
Protection is the concern on both sides of this short-week matchup. The Panthers have placed right tackle Taylor Moton on injured reserve, while the Packers have lost Jacob Monk and are not expecting Sean Rhyan to play. Josh Jacobs adds a receiving outlet after catching five passes for 55 yards against the Lions, but a rushing attack averaging 59.9 yards per game still has plenty to prove.
The forecast gives the Packers a five-point win and puts the total four-and-a-half points below 47.5. Sustained pressure and stalled drives fit that lower-scoring outlook. Our Panthers vs. Packers prediction takes a closer look at the Thursday matchup; the AI selections are Packers -3.5 and Under 47.5.
Ravens vs Bills AI prediction
SUN · 1:00 p.m. ET · CBSMore analysis
The Ravens need more from their running game to keep Josh Allen on the sideline. Derrick Henry has managed 58 and 45 rushing yards in his last two outings, and Lamar Jackson's high ankle sprain has kept him out for three starts. Jackson's return remains uncertain, making it difficult to count on the extra rushing threat that normally complicates defensive assignments.
The Bills return from their bye with James Cook riding a five-game streak of at least 75 rushing yards. That gives Buffalo a way to sustain possessions without asking Allen to manufacture every first down. A 30–21 forecast supports Bills -3.5 and Under 53.5, although a healthy Jackson would give the Ravens a much stronger route to keeping pace.
Titans vs Bengals AI prediction
SUN · 1:00 p.m. ET · CBSMore analysis
Joe Burrow is getting the protection to make Cincinnati's passing game work. He threw four touchdowns against the Ravens as the Bengals reached the end zone on five straight drives. Right tackle Amarius Mims allowed no pressures on 34 dropbacks in that game, according to Next Gen Stats cited by the team, giving Burrow time to exploit coverage.
The Titans do not need to match that production to cover a double-digit spread. The model has the Bengals winning 27–17, leaving Tennessee +10.5 with only a half-point cushion. That makes this a narrow ATS lean, while the projected 44 points favor Under 46.5. An early Bengals lead would put considerable pressure on the Titans to keep finishing their own drives.
Cardinals vs Cowboys AI prediction
SUN · 1:00 p.m. ET · FOXMore analysis
The Cardinals' red-zone problems are separating useful drives from meaningful points. They have scored one touchdown in their last 10 trips inside the 20, including a 1-for-5 showing against the Broncos. The Cowboys arrive with a much cleaner offensive performance behind them: Javonte Williams rushed for 155 yards, and Dak Prescott took no sacks or quarterback hits in the win over the Eagles.
Another productive ground game would give Dallas opportunities to control the down and distance before attacking through the air. The 30–23 projection favors Cowboys -6.5, but the half-point gap leaves little room for wasted scoring chances. Arizona's finishing troubles also help explain the Under 54.5 selection despite the highest projected total on the slate.
Vikings vs Lions AI prediction
SUN · 1:00 p.m. ET · FOXMore analysis
The Vikings' pressure packages will test Jared Goff's ability to make quick decisions. Minnesota blitzed on 85.2% of the Colts' dropbacks last week, according to Next Gen Stats cited by the Lions. Goff enters with 14 touchdown passes and no interceptions, while Detroit's protection allowed only five pressures against the Packers.
The Lions have a credible answer to that aggression, but the undefeated Vikings have made life uncomfortable for opposing quarterbacks all season. The model gives Detroit a 23–21 home win, leaving Vikings +3.5 as the ATS choice. A competitive game with both defenses disrupting possessions also supports Under 46.5; the forecast does not require either offense to disappear.
Colts vs Jaguars AI prediction
SUN · 1:00 p.m. ET · CBSMore analysis
The Jaguars return from their bye with a chance to widen the gap in the AFC South. They enter 4–2 against a 2–5 Colts team that scored only 10 points against the Vikings. The extra preparation time matters against an Indianapolis offense trying to recover from a game in which moving the ball rarely produced a touchdown.
The model still leaves room for the Colts to improve offensively, projecting a 27–20 Jaguars win. That distinction makes Colts +7.5 the ATS selection even though Jacksonville is the outright pick. The 47-point forecast sits just above 46.5, so Over is a modest lean that depends on Indianapolis contributing more than it did last week.
Raiders vs Jets AI prediction
SUN · 1:00 p.m. ET · FOXMore analysis
Geno Smith's passing has been better than the Jets' results suggest. He completed 23 of 30 passes for 287 yards and three touchdowns against the Dolphins, and his 70.0% completion rate ranks third among quarterbacks with at least 100 attempts. That efficiency gives the Jets an identifiable path to sustaining drives against the Raiders.
Kirk Cousins remains the Raiders' starter, keeping this a matchup between veteran quarterbacks. The model favors the Jets 24–20 despite the market giving them 1.5 points, creating one of the week's largest score-to-spread gaps. Jets +1.5 is the ATS pick, while a 44-point projection favors Under 45.5. Smith's production still needs to translate into a complete team performance.
Browns vs Steelers AI prediction
SUN · 1:00 p.m. ET · CBSMore analysis
Jaylen Warren gives the Steelers a way to stay out of difficult passing situations. He supplied 101 rushing yards and another 36 receiving yards in the win over the Saints. The Browns have shown they can survive close finishes, but all five of their victories have come by four points or fewer.
Pittsburgh's 24–17 projection calls for a wider margin, supporting Steelers -3.5 in a meeting of 5–2 rivals. Deshaun Watson's 308 passing yards against the Titans are a reminder that Cleveland can contribute offensively, even after a poor start. The forecast totals 41 points, making Over 39.5 the selection rather than assuming an AFC North matchup must stay Under.
Falcons vs Buccaneers AI prediction
SUN · 1:00 p.m. ET · FOXMore analysis
The Buccaneers' bounce-back win started on the ground. They rushed for 258 yards against the Panthers while Baker Mayfield needed only 11 pass attempts in his return from a thumb injury. That balance offers a more sustainable foundation than asking the returning quarterback to carry the entire offense immediately.
The Falcons bring their own momentum after generating three takeaways in a 29–20 win over the 49ers. Tampa Bay therefore needs clean possessions as much as another productive rushing day. A 26–20 forecast backs Buccaneers -2.5, with Over 45.5 a much thinner lean: the projected total clears that number by only half a point.
Chargers vs Rams AI prediction
SUN · 4:05 p.m. ET · FOXMore analysis
The Chargers' offensive struggles are outweighing a much more competitive defense. Their offense ranks last in EPA per play, while the defense ranks eighth, according to the team's Week 8 overview. The Rams offer a difficult test after Kyren Williams and Blake Corum combined for 192 rushing yards against the Raiders.
That rushing production can keep the Rams from becoming too predictable against the stronger half of the Chargers' roster. The model forecasts a 27–17 Rams win and backs Rams -6.5. Under 44.5 is only a half-point lean, leaving little protection against a late touchdown if Justin Herbert and the Chargers find more rhythm following their bye.
Chiefs vs Broncos AI prediction
SUN · 4:25 p.m. ET · CBSMore analysis
The Broncos can threaten Kansas City without relying exclusively on downfield throws. Bo Nix scored on a 62-yard run and found RJ Harvey for a 52-yard touchdown against the Cardinals. Those plays illustrate how quarterback movement and yards after the catch can turn a modest opening into a scoring opportunity.
The Chiefs must respond after gaining only 213 yards and never reaching the red zone against the Seahawks. Denver's 21–20 projected win makes Broncos +1.5 the ATS pick and the Broncos our featured outright upset. The 41-point total barely favors Over 40.5; this remains a close-game forecast, not a prediction of another offensive explosion.
Patriots vs Dolphins AI prediction
SUN · 4:25 p.m. ET · CBSMore analysis
The Patriots have the stronger offensive production, but turnovers complicate a large road spread. They average 375 yards per game and Drake Maye has thrown at least two touchdown passes in four straight outings. Their minus-seven turnover differential, however, leaves room for an opponent to stay close without matching that yardage.
The Dolphins average only 16.3 points, which makes it difficult to project a consistently productive afternoon against New England. The model favors the Patriots 24–20, supporting Dolphins +7.5 while still selecting New England outright. Under 44.5 is a narrow half-point lean; a short field created by another turnover could be enough to undo it.
Eagles vs Commanders AI prediction
SUN · 8:20 p.m. ET · NBCMore analysis
The Eagles' offense is showing signs of life while its injury problems keep multiplying. Tanner McKee led three touchdown drives against the Cowboys, but Saquon Barkley aggravated his hamstring and played only nine snaps. Jalen Hurts remains on injured reserve, and the offense cannot count on its preferred collection of playmakers.
The Commanders have the rest advantage coming off their bye, although Terry McLaurin's season-ending injury leaves their own receiving group short of its top option. The model projects a 23–20 Washington win, favoring Eagles +5.5 and Over 40.5. Philadelphia's ability to build on those sustained scoring drives is central to both selections.
Bears vs Seahawks AI prediction
MON · 8:15 p.m. ET · ESPNMore analysis
Caleb Williams brings a much stronger Bears passing game into this Monday matchup. He has topped 300 passing yards in both starts since returning from his hamstring injury, and Chicago has extra recovery time after playing on Thursday. The Seahawks counter with a defense that just held the Chiefs to three points and 213 yards.
Seattle also has a reliable source of explosive offense in Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who has topped 100 receiving yards in six of seven games. The model favors the Seahawks 26–20, enough to support Seattle -3.5 despite the Bears' improved quarterback play. Under 46.5 is the thinner selection, with the forecast finishing only half a point below the line.

How our NFL AI predictions work
Our NFL AI predictions use a custom statistical forecasting model that combines historical scoring results, team-strength estimates, play-by-play performance, and player-usage information to project a final score for each matchup. Quarterback availability can remain uncertain when the projections are made.
The model does not use betting lines as inputs. We compare its score forecasts with the selected Kalshi spreads and totals to produce our ATS and Over/Under picks. The percentages shown in the cards are Kalshi purchase quotes before fees, separate from the model forecasts; independently quoted prices may total more than 100%.
We track results against the original published selections and lines. Tuesday's forecasts and tracked picks remain fixed through the week, while the matchup analysis can reflect subsequent news. Best Pick identifies our featured ATS selection, not a guaranteed result or a proven expected-return ranking.
Odds and market lines are correct at the time of publishing and are subject to change.
