76ers vs. Pistons

Combo: 5.75x

  • 76ers moneyline
  • Under 219.5
  • Joel Embiid Over 7.5 rebounds

I'm backing the 76ers for a fifth straight win, with the visitors coming off an efficient win over the Chicago Bulls on Monday, and both teams have trended towards the Under this year.

It's 6-2 in Philly's eight contests and 4-1 in Detroit's past five outings. The Pistons allow the lowest FG% in the league (41.2), and the 76ers are just behind at 43.2. With Ausar Thompson tracking Tyrese Maxey, and Jaylen Brown and VJ Edgecombe in line for the Cade Cunningham assignment, look for defense to have the final say here.

With that in mind, give me the Over on Embiid's rebounds in my 76ers vs. Pistons predictions. He's averaging 9.3 RPG across his last four matchups, and he can feast on the glass against the undersized Paul Reed and John Collins.

Hawks vs. Wizards

Combo: 5.50x

  • Wizards +2.5
  • Under 232.5
  • Nickeil Alexander-Walker Over 19.5 points

I like the Under tonight. Washington has held its last two opponents to 94 points or fewer in two straight outings, while Atlanta's previous three games have all finished below 232.5.

The Wizards are also 6-1 to the Under this season, and both teams are averaging fewer than 116 ppg.

I'm rounding out my combo with Nickeil Alexander-Walker to show out. He's cleared this total in three of his last four, and the guard poured in 34 points last game without Johnson in the lineup.

If he sits, Alexander-Walker gets a bigger workload, and the Wizards are an easy matchup for shooting guards, allowing 26.6 ppg to the position in my Hawks vs. Wizards predictions.

Bucks vs. Celtics

  • Time: 7:30 p.m. ET
  • TV: MyMi, Bucks App
  • Analyst: Geoff Clark

Combo: 8.37x

  • Milwaukee +10.5
  • Jaime Jaquez Jr. 15+ points
  • Paul George Over 2.5 threes

I'm only risking 0.25u on these combos, and I like the way this game could open up if Boston is missing some of its usual firepower.

I just need the Bucks to keep this competitive enough for the starters to stay involved deep into the fourth quarter. That matters for Milwaukee wing Jaime Jaquez Jr., who should keep getting chances to score, and Paul George, who can pile up rebounds simply by staying on the floor in a close game.

The whole thing works better if Boston never creates separation. Give me Milwaukee hanging around, both rotations staying intact, and enough possessions for Jaquez and PG to hit their marks in my Bucks vs. Celtics predictions.

Bulls vs. Knicks

Combo: 4.95x

  • Knicks moneyline
  • Under 234.5 points
  • Josh Giddey Over 7.5 assists

The Bulls are 1-5 straight up across their last six visits to New York. Even with the recent shortcomings of the latter, the spread is what it is for a reason, as Chicago has just one victory to its name, and that was against a team currently tied with it in the standings: the 1-6 Milwaukee Bucks.

With combined 3-11 records in the Over/Under market, and both sides ranking in the bottom third in offense, projecting an Under at 234.5 points — a number which the Knicks have exceeded just once — is the path of least resistance.

Josh Giddey recorded a double-double of 10 points and 11 assists against New York last week, with his 11 dimes being a season high. He's gone Over 7.5 in four of his seven appearances, thus far, and is averaging 8.2 assists in 16 career looks at the Knicks, as well.

Cavaliers vs. Thunder

  • Time: 8 p.m. ET
  • TV: DAZN, KSBI-IND
  • Analyst: Geoff Clark

Combo: 9.34x

  • Cleveland +3.5
  • Meleek Thomas 3+ made threes
  • Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Under 5.5 assists

I like the way Cleveland’s offense can control the flow of this rematch. If the Cavs are moving the ball, getting Cleveland rookie Meleek Thomas clean looks, and forcing OKC to defend longer possessions, that naturally keeps Cleveland in range all night.

On the other end, I’m fine making Shai Gilgeous-Alexander do more of the heavy lifting himself. If Oklahoma City’s offense gets a little more stagnant and the supporting cast doesn’t bail him out, that helps us twice.

I don’t need anything crazy here. Just give me a cleaner Cleveland offensive game, fewer easy Thunder possessions, and a fourth quarter where the Cavaliers are still right there in my Cavaliers vs. Thunder predictions.

Timberwolves vs. Rockets

  • Time: 8:30 p.m. ET
  • TV: DAZN MIN
  • Analyst: Ed Scimia

Combo: 6.58x

  • Over 221.5
  • Rockets -7.5
  • Alperen Sengun Over 19.5 points

Along with the Over, I'm also backing the Rockets to cover tonight. The loss of Edwards has weighed heavily on the Timberwolves, who have lost three of their last five games. Houston is 7-1 ATS this season, and I see the Rockets winning comfortably at home tonight.

I'll also take Alperen Sengun to score at least 20 points in this game. I'm expecting a higher pace than usual for a Rockets game, and Sengun is already averaging 23.3 ppg this season. The center has put up 23+ points four times in his first six games, and I'm expecting that trend to continue here in my Timberwolves vs. Rockets predictions.

Raptors vs. Nuggets

Combo: 6.39x

  • Raptors +4.5
  • Scottie Barnes Over 7.5 rebounds
  • Nikola Jokic Over 24.5 points

The Raptors have been generating extra possessions and are playing at the seventh-fastest pace in basketball, which could help them stay close while giving Barnes more opportunities to collect rebounds against a team having difficulties on the glass.

Meanwhile, Toronto's frontcourt could be shorthanded with Jakob Poeltl questionable due to a shoulder injury, but Denver's rebounding struggles will still lead to plenty of one-and-done possessions for Nikola Jokic & Co.

With limited second-chance points and Toronto looking to turn Jokic into a playmaker, expect to see him go Under the number in Dustin Saracini's Raptors vs. Nuggets predictions.

Mavericks vs. Spurs

Combo: 4.79x

  • Spurs moneyline
  • Under 228.5
  • Victor Wembanyama Over 2.5 assists

The Mavericks will almost certainly muster a more spirited effort 48 hours after such a miserable performance, but projections are what they are for a reason.

San Antonio's competition has been bottom of the barrel, but it's still a reigning finalist with a healthy, talented core that's had Dallas' number for a while.

Both teams currently have 2-5 records in the total market. The Spurs have a 10th-ranked offense, but when the total is set at 228 points or higher, they've hit the Over only twice in five games.

Victor Wembanyama has finished with four or more assists in three straight games after recording exactly two in his three prior outings. He's tied for third on the roster in that department during that span.

Check out more picks in Chris Walder's Mavericks vs. Spurs predictions.

Lakers vs. Kings

  • Time: 10 p.m. ET
  • TV: Spectrum SportsNet
  • Analyst: Jason Logan

Combo: 7.25x

  • Over 234.5
  • Walker Kessler Over 12.5 points
  • Darius Acuff Over 2.5 3-pointers

The Lakers’ top-ranked offense keeps rolling against one of the worst defenses in the land. However, the Kings are back home, and their uptempo attack picks up the pace while also doing damage from deep.

Walker Kessler abuses an undermanned and undersized Sacramento frontcourt allowing the most points in the paint. The Lakers are giving Kessler a larger role in the offense, and that shows in his scoring uptick. His projections flirt with 14 points.

Rookie guard Darius Acuff isn’t shying away from shooting the ball. He’s among the NBA leaders in field-goal attempts, including plenty of 3-point looks. Game script and style prompts Acuff to let it fly from deep, making three shots from downtown tonight in Jason Logan's Lakers vs. Kings predictions.

Heat vs. Clippers

  • Time: 10:30 p.m. ET
  • TV: ClipperVision
  • Analyst: Zak Hanshew

Combo: 5.18x

  • Over 233.5
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 5.5 assists
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo Over 29.5 points

Giannis Antetokounmpo has scored 30 or more points in four of seven games, and he's fresh off a 30-point showing on the road against the Lakers. The Clippers don't have the interior personnel to contend with Antetokounmpo in the paint, and I'll trade his scoring line up to 31.5.

Beyond the favorable matchup, Antetokounmpo has volume on his side. His 28.4 points on 19 shots easily lead the Heat.

Across his last four games, Antetokounmpo has averaged 7.8 assists and dished out six or more three times. The offense runs through him, and I'll trade this one up to 6.5.

Antetokounmpo's 32% assist percentage ties teammate Davion Mitchell for the 13th-highest among players averaging 30 or more minutes per game, and he leads Miami comfortably in usage rate at 31.4%. Over the last three games, the Clippers have surrendered the fifth-most assists at 30 per tilt.
