Early Jaguars vs Ravens spread pick: Jaguars -9.5
The Baltimore Ravens are running out of quarterbacks, answers, and excuses.
Lamar Jackson is headed to injured reserve, Tyler Huntley is injured, and rookie Joe Fagnano is the likely starter on Thursday. His debut against a bad Buffalo Bills defense ended with a brutal 10-of-21 passing line for 91 yards, an interception, and a lost fumble. Good luck on a short week!
Baltimore has lost three straight games while failing to score more than 13 points in any of those matchups and surrendering 71 points over the last two. This team has completely hit the wall.
Meanwhile, the Jacksonville Jaguars have been an absolute ATM for bettors laying points. The Jaguars are 14-2 straight up and 12-3-1 against the spread in their last 16 as a favorite, outscoring opponents by an average of 14 points and covering by 8.6.
They just demolished Indianapolis by 35 points while laying 10.5, which came after smashing Cleveland by 24 and laying 8.5 earlier this season.
Baltimore hasn't been good when tasked with needing to play up to the competition. The Ravens are 0-4-1 ATS in their last five as a home underdog, losing by an average of 16 points.
These offenses aren't even remotely close right now, with Jacksonville ranking third in yards per play over its last three games and Baltimore at 30th in that span.

Early Jaguars vs Ravens total pick: Under 42.5
Trying to make a case for an Over involving Baltimore right now isn't easy.
The Ravens are averaging a pathetic 11 points over their last three games, and with Jackson gone, their quarterback situation is suddenly one of the NFL's worst.
The home/road splits don't exactly scream shootout, either.
Baltimore has been averaging just 18 points across its three home games, while Jacksonville managed only 13 in Denver and 22 when visiting Cincinnati in its two true road outings. Both games finished Under, and four of the Jaguars' last five true road games dating back to last season have cashed Under tickets.
My only hesitation? Baltimore's defense has surrendered 71 points over its last two games, and rookie head coach Jesse Minter hasn't exactly delivered the defensive masterclass Ravens fans were expecting.
Jacksonville could threaten this total on its own, which is why I'm treating the Under as a lean rather than a prediction with conviction.
