Oilers vs Stars player props for May 29
Mason Marchment Over 1.5 shots on goal (-150 at BET99)
Mason Marchment has quietly piled up the shots in this series.
He’s recorded 18 shot attempts at 5-on-5 alone, which puts him just one back of Tyler Seguin for first among all players. He also leads the series with five rebounds generated in that game state.
He’s getting a lot of looks around the net and the shot totals are strong as a result. He has recorded multiple shots on goal in three of four games and is averaging more than five shot attempts per night.
The volume should continue to be there in Game 5 as he’s feasted on home soil all year long. Playoffs included, Marchment has multiple shots in 32 of 40 games in Dallas. That’s good for a whopping 80% hit rate.
If we move the floor to four shot attempts, a number he’s hit in three of four vs. the Edmonton Oilers, his success rate for the season soars to 91%.
At home in a do or die game, Marchment should be firing at will.
Evan Bouchard Over 0.5 points (-155 at BET99)
A lot of players see decreases in their numbers come playoff time. The competition is tougher, every bit of ice is contested, and fatigue — or injuries — tends to take its toll on players.
Evan Bouchard is an exception to the rule.
Bouchard has piled up 17 points through 15 games. That’s par for the course for Bouchard, who has 66 points spanning 52 playoff games dating back to 2023. The guy is a machine.
Sharing the ice frequently with Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl helps, of course, but he still has to go out there and make plays on the biggest stage, and he does so consistently.
Dating back to last year’s playoffs, Bouchard has only gone back-to-back games without a point twice. He did over the final two games against Florida in the Stanley Cup Final as well as in this year’s first round against the Kings. Otherwise, he’s bounced back from a pointless performance every time.
It’s difficult to keep him off the scoresheet for one game and he almost always gets back on track immediately.
I expect that will be the case once again vs. the Dallas Stars tonight. Bouchard is such a big facilitator offensively and he’s simply not someone who lets the moment get to him.
Jason Robertson Over 2.5 shots on goal (+130 at BET99)
Is Jason Robertson all the way back? It sure seems like it! The veteran sniper has looked more like his usual self against the Oilers, threatening to score what feels like every shift.
He leads all Stars players in shot attempts, shots on goal, scoring chances and high-danger opportunities when accounting for all game states.
He’s been rewarded for his efforts, too, as one of two Stars players to find the net multiple times. That should give him confidence to continue firing away.
Not to mention, his ice time has increased every game in this series. He logged more than 19 minutes in Game 4, playing more than all Stars forwards outside of Mikko Rantanen.
In a win or go home game, Stars coach Pete DeBoer will undoubtedly be going with the hot hand and leaning on the guys playing the best right now.
Robertson should see plenty of minutes and generate plenty of shots along the way.
