The NFL season brings us a boatload of football props, and one that is usually swept under the rug is the next NFL head coach to leave or be fired.

Last season, John Gruden was the first to go, resigning from the Las Vegas Raiders following the surfacing of inappropriate work emails. Urban Meyer was also fired as the Jacksonville Jaguars' bench boss before the season finished, amid a disappointing 2-11 record and off-field distractions.

Following a dismal start for the Carolina Panthers, third-year head coach Matt Rhule is favored to go first as the Panthers' quarterback carousel continues. Rookie head coach Nathaniel Hackett is also on the hot seat following an underwhelming start as Denver Broncos' HC.

Next Coach to Leave odds

Matt Rhule +200
Nathaniel Hackett +500
Frank Reich +700
Kliff Kingsbury +800
Mike Vrabel +1,000
Kevin Stefanski +1,200
Josh McDaniels +1,200
Ron Rivera +1,400
Mike McCarthy +1,600
Pete Carroll +2,000
Arthur Smith +2,000

Favorites to be the next head coach to leave

Matt Rhule (+200)

Taking home Big 12 Coach of the Year with the Baylor Bears in 2019, Matt Rhule was named Carolina Panthers' head coach back in 2020. Unfortunately, his first three seasons in Charlotte haven't gotten off to the start he wanted.

After finishing 5-11 in his first season with the Panthers, Carolina started out last year with an encouraging 3-0 start but subsequently lost their next four. Sam Darnold and Cam Newton both struggled mightily at the quarterback position, and Carolina again finished the season with just five wins.

Baker Mayfield hasn't been the answer at quarterback in 2022, as the Panthers are already 0-2 after losing to the Browns and Giants. At this rate, Rhule could be shown the door sooner rather than later.

Nathaniel Hackett (+500)

Expectations are sky-high in the Mile High City for the Denver Broncos, but it's gotten off a rocky start for Nathaniel Hackett. The Broncos were upset by the Seahawks in their season opener following Hackett's controversial decision to kick a potential game-winning 64-yard field goal instead of trusting star QB Russell Wilson to convert on fourth down.

In Week 2, the Broncos barely scraped past the Houston Texans at home. Denver is expected to be a Super Bowl contender coming out of the AFC, and Hackett hasn't made any fans across the league believe in that early on.

Frank Reich (+700)

The Indianapolis Colts are the talk of the NFL right now, and for all the wrong reasons.

After tying the Houston Texans in Week 1, the Colts were embarrassed 24-0 in Jacksonville as the Matt Ryan era has gotten off to a disastrous start. Colts' fans continue to call for Frank Reich's head, as the letdown stems all the way back to Indy blowing a spot in the playoffs last year.

The only thing that may help Reich keep his job is owner Jim Irsay tends to be loyal to his head coaches, plus the AFC South is an extremely weak division that Indy can easily still win.
