The Miami Dolphins finally got into the win column last week, and they head north to try and make it two in a row against the 1-3 Carolina Panthers on Sunday.

My Dolphins vs. Panthers predictions expect Miami to cover the number on the heels of a busy afternoon from running back De'Von Achane.

Find out more in my NFL picks for Sunday, October 5.

Dolphins vs Panthers prediction

Dolphins vs Panthers Best bet: De'Von Achane Over 63.5 rushing yards (-114)

There’s nothing scary about a Carolina Panthers rush defense that’s surrendered the fourth-highest yards per carry to opposing running backs (5.4), while also allowing the ninth-highest EPA per run.

Of course, Miami Dolphins running back De'Von Achane has also run well in consecutive games, averaging a rock-solid 161 yards at 5.0 per tote.

With No. 1 wide receiver Tyreek Hill (knee) out for the season, the Miami offense has all the more reason to turn to Achane early and often on Sunday.

The third-year rusher has impressed with strong underlying metrics, ranking top 10 in yards after contact per attempt and forced missed tackles, while leading all running backs with at least 40 carries in PFF’s elusive rating.

It all adds up to a big day on the ground for Achane.

Dolphins vs Panthers same-game parlay

Miami has played well in consecutive weeks, hanging tight with the Bills on Thursday Night Football in Week 3 and following it up with a Week 4 win over the Jets.

I also give the Dolphins the advantage behind center, with Panthers QB Bryce Young ranking 32nd in adjusted EPA per play and 33rd in air yards among the 36 qualified signal callers.

Meanwhile, the Panthers have been shredded by opposing tight ends for the sixth-highest catch percentage and second-highest yards per target. I’m eyeing Miami tight end Darren Waller to have another impact week after catching three of four targets for 27 yards and two touchdowns on MNF.
