Denver’s offense has struggled to justify road-favorite status, creating value on Arizona plus the points while a low-scoring matchup also stands out.

The Denver Broncos head to Glendale for a Week 7 matchup on Sunday at 4:05 p.m. ET, laying 4.5 points against Arizona with a total of 43.5.

Denver's bottom-tier offense makes that road-favorite price tough to trust, and my Broncos vs. Cardinals predictions target both the spread and a total shaped by two offenses that struggle to generate explosive plays.

Early Broncos vs Cardinals spread pick: Cardinals +4.5

This is more of a fade of the Denver Broncos, but I'll invest in the Arizona Cardinals +4.5, down to +3.5.

Bottom line: An offense this bad shouldn't be laying more than a field goal on the road. Denver ranks 31st in yards per play, while QB Bo Nix ranks 31st in QBR.

Former NFL QB Ryan Fitzpatrick even said Nix's quarterback play was "disrespectful to the position" after Denver's 17-14 upset of Seattle last Thursday. That's pretty damning coming from a 17-year NFL veteran.

More importantly, Denver has the worse early-down EPA per play differential, according to RBSDM.com. That's one of my favorite predictive metrics because offenses still have their entire playbook available on first and second downs.

Early Broncos vs Cardinals total pick: Under 43.5

I lean toward the Under 43.5, playable up to 44.5, especially because 44 is the most common number for NFL totals.

Denver's defense is nasty, while both offenses prefer to dink and dunk their way down the field. The Broncos have gone Under in five of six games this season, and neither quarterback is pushing the ball vertically. Per Pro Football Focus, Nix ranks 35th in aDOT, while Cardinals QB Jacoby Brissett ranks 29th.

Denver also ranks 31st in offensive explosive-play rate, while Arizona is 32nd, according to Warren Sharp. With both defenses vulnerable against the run, I could see each team leaning on the ground game and shortening this one.

My prediction: Broncos 22, Cardinals 19.
