My Indiana vs. Michigan prediction backs the Wolverines to keep it close during Saturday afternoon's Big Ten showdown.
With Bryce Underwood taking a seat and Tommy Carr making his first collegiate start, Michigan's offense could get a refreshing change of pace. However, I still expect both defenses to dominate from start to finish.
Find out why I'm backing the Wolverines in my latest college football picks ahead of Saturday's noon ET kickoff on FOX.
TOP PICK
Who will win Indiana vs Michigan: Michigan +7.5
If this is the end for Bryce Underwood and the start of the Tommy Carr era, Michigan is the play on Saturday.
The freshman threw for just 47 yards while completing five of seven attempts after replacing Underwood during a win over Penn State. He also rushed for 36 yards and found pay dirt in the fourth quarter. Anything is better than forcing Underwood out there, especially when he's been a turnover machine.
The Indiana Hoosiers are coming off a tough loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes, a game they were just inches away from winning. Some will see that heartbreak and run to bet the Hoosiers this week, but this Michigan team catching 7.5 points is too good to pass up. The Wolverines boast a defense allowing the fewest yards per play in the country, the second-fewest total yards, and just over 16 points per game.
I snagged +7.5, but I endorse Michigan down to +7.

Indiana vs Michigan Over/Under pick: Under 41.5
Look at that beautiful key number of 41 and the hook!
For Michigan to cover in this matchup, the Under will need to be the play, even with Carr running the show. With this being the freshman's first collegiate start, he's likely to hit some speed bumps along the way. Head coach Kyle Whittingham will probably take a more conservative approach, leaning on designed runs while Carr continues to develop into the passer this team needs him to be going forward.
Indiana has done an incredible job limiting scoring this season, with Big Ten opponents averaging just 18.5 points per game against the Hoosiers.
I envision a 20-17 ballgame at its ceiling. I'd take this under down to 40, at most.
Indiana vs Michigan combo
This game script sets up nicely for a correlated parlay. Michigan +7.5 gives the Wolverines room to keep the contest competitive, while the full-game Under 41.5 benefits from two elite defenses and a freshman quarterback making his first start.
The first-half Under 20.5 fits that same low-scoring script, creating an appealing combination at 4.29x odds.
Indiana vs Michigan combo
- Michigan +7.5
- Under 41.5
- First half Under 20.5
