Could we see a Super Bowl preview on Sunday Night Football? The Seahawks have work to do in order to recapture their championship pedigree, but Jason Logan isn't counting out Seattle on SNF.

The Seattle Seahawks hope home field and a mini-bye can help them find their championship swagger.

Seattle has lost three of its last four heading into a showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football in Week 7.

My early Chiefs vs. Seahawks predictions take the temperature of each team’s public perception against the on-field products, with my early leans and NFL picks for SNF on Oct. 25 going toward Seattle and the Under.

Early Chiefs vs Seahawks spread pick: Seahawks moneyline

Given Sam Darnold’s struggles, a pop-gun rushing game, and an early losing skid, the Seattle Seahawks look far from their Super Bowl pedigree entering Week 7.

While the markets may discount the Seahawks, I’m not convinced they’re as bad as they seem – or that the Kansas City Chiefs are that strong.

The Chiefs turned heads with a one-sided home win over Denver in Week 1, but since have scored victories over Indianapolis, Miami, Las Vegas, and the L.A. Chargers. Meh.

The Seahawks defense is still an elite stop unit and lost a tough outing at Denver on the short week last Thursday. Seattle is No. 2 in EPA allowed per play and opponent success rate.

This is a notable step up in defensive competition for Kansas City, which has gotten fat and happy against stop units in the bottom third of the league.

I’ll lean to the home team with extra time to rest and prep on Sunday night, but wait and see if public perception offers a better price on Seattle later in the week.

Early Chiefs vs Seahawks total pick: Under 42.5

The Seahawks aren’t going to win a shootout against the Chiefs, so my moneyline lean ties directly into a lean to the Under 42.5 points.

Seattle sits second in pressure rate per dropback and doesn’t need to rely on the blitz to cook up that intensity. The Seahawks are Top 10 in both sacks and QB hits. Getting constant pressure from just the front four is the blueprint to beating Patrick Mahomes.

Kansas City’s QB is a master at dissecting blitzes but struggles under pressure from a four-man rush, with his PFF rating dropping nearly 25 points when under duress. Injuries at left tackle are mounting with Josh Simmons still working his way back from injury and Jaylon Moore in concussion protocol.

Neither defense gives up big plays, sitting among the leaders in limiting explosive passes, and both offenses are very methodical. The Seahawks and Chiefs eat up a lot of play clock per snap and rarely run no-huddle.

Kansas City will give Seattle a healthy dose of former RB Kenneth Walker III, not only to stick it to the Seahawks, but keep the temperature down on Mahomes.
