Jesse Legree is set to carry the Beavers to a Pac-12 After Dark win over a Fresno State defense being propped up by a soft schedule.

Pac-12 After Dark is always worth staying up for, but that's especially true this week as Oregon State takes on Fresno State at Valley Children's Stadium in Fresno, Calif., on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 11 p.m. ET (USA Network).

The Beavers are 6.5-point road favorites, and my Oregon State vs. Fresno State prediction and college football picks are backing Jessee Legree and Braden Atkinson to expose the Bulldogs.

 TOP PICK
Who will win Oregon State vs Fresno State: Oregon State -6.5

Oregon State isn't just a fun story in JaMarcus Shephard's first season in Corvallis; the Beavers are a legitimate College Football Playoff threat in the Group of Six.

Riding a five-game winning streak, I like the Beavers to cover -8.5 or better.

Fresno State has been propped up by a soft schedule, and the last time the Bulldogs were on the field, they lost as a 7.5-point favorite to a mumps-ravaged San Diego State team. Oregon State beat that San Diego State team 66-14 the week prior.

With Jesse Legree and Braden Atkinson leading an offense ranked fifth in the country in available yards percentage (63.1%), the Beavers' scoring unit will prove too much for Fresno to keep pace with in the second half.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Weather could impact this matchup, which favors Oregon State's offense. The Beavers rank 16th nationally in rush success rate (49.1%), while Fresno State's defense struggles to stop the run, sitting 110th in rush success rate (47.7%).

Oregon State vs Fresno State Over/Under pick: Under 58.5

Oregon State's offense is one of the most potent in the country, but I have a hard time trusting Fresno State will do enough for the Over to hit. With the Bulldogs' one-dimensional offense, I like the Under at 55.5 or better.

Fresno State has found far more success throwing the ball (40th in EPA per dropback) than running it (79th in EPA per rush). That makes this a difficult matchup against a Beavers defense that's allowing the fewest passing yards per game in the Pac-12 (204.9) and leads the conference in sacks (18).

If Bulldogs QB Jayden Mandal can't get into rhythm against the Beavers, Fresno might not crack 24 points, especially with rain being a factor.

Oregon State vs Fresno State combo

In Legree and Atkinson, we trust. They're the best QB-wide receiver combo in the G6 this season, and they have Oregon State sitting top 10 nationally in offensive success rate (50.3%).

Legree tops the nation in receiving yards (1,040) and touchdowns (13) while ranking in the top three in yards after catch (485) and yards per route run (4.48). Meanwhile, Atkinson leads the country in both passing yards (2,604) and touchdowns (24).

And that's without mentioning that Oregon State also boasts two of the best players in the G6 at their respective positions: running back AJ Newberry and tight end Eric Olsen.

This offense will be too much for Fresno State to keep up with in Pac-12 After Dark action. Get your popcorn ready for the Beavers.
