White Sox vs Cubs prediction

My White Sox vs Cubs best bet: Cubs -1.5 (-128 at FanDuel)

While the Chicago Cubs are a chalky pick in this game, they are the stronger team in every category. First, their lineup is superior.

The Cubs are more powerful than the Chicago White Sox, outranking them in slugging percentage, OPS and home runs. They are also better at reaching base, outpacing the White Sox in hits per game, batting average and on-base percentage.

Subsequently, there is a substantial gap of 2.1 runs scored per game between these two teams.

The Cubs also possess the pitching advantage as left-hander Matthew Boyd takes the mound. Through eight starts this season, Boyd is 3-2 with a 2.78 ERA and 1.30 WHIP.

His underlying metrics are equally impressive, as he ranks in the top half of the league in expected ERA (xERA), average exit velocity, barrel rate and hard-hit rate. Boyd also possesses solid command, ranking in the top half of the league in both strikeout rate and walk rate.

On the other hand, the White Sox send right-hander Sean Burke to the mound. Analytically, Burke is one of the worst pitchers in baseball, ranking in the bottom fifth of the league in xERA, expected batting average (xBA) and barrel rate.

White Sox vs Cubs same-game parlay (SGP)

Cubs -1.5

Pete Crow-Armstrong to record a hit

Kyle Tucker to record a hit

If we’re backing the Cubs to win this game, then they’ll need contributions from key hitters. There are perhaps no two better candidates than Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker.

Crow-Armstrong is making a push for NL MVP, recording 16 hits over his past 13 games. He boasts a .320 batting average over that stretch.

Meanwhile, Tucker has tallied 13 hits over his past 14 games, proving nearly as dominant.
