My NHL player prop picks back Kirill Kaprizov to find the back of the net, while Matt Boldy and Brady Tkachuk are primed to pile up the shots.

Five games highlight Sunday's NHL slate, but it's a pair of Minnesota Wild stars stealing the spotlight in my NHL player props.

Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy are poised to feast on a vulnerable Vancouver Canucks defense, and I'm backing both to deliver in my latest NHL picks for Sunday, Oct. 25.

Prop pick #1: Matt Boldy 4+ shots

Novig probability: 54%

Play up to 57%.

Matt Boldy averaged 3.34 shots per game last season, but the Minnesota Wild winger has upped the ante this year with an NHL-leading 56 shots in 12 games — or 4.67 shots per contest.

Boldy has logged 5+ shots on goal in four of his last five games, and he'll easily put at least four pucks on net against a porous Vancouver Canucks defense.

The Canucks are surrendering a league-worst 33.5 shots against per game, and that number is up to 37.4 over their last five contests.

Vancouver is also last in the NHL in shot attempt share at 5-on-5 (41.38%), so Boldy and the Wild should have the puck in the Canucks zone all night.

Prop pick #2: Brady Tkachuk 4+ shots

Novig probability: 43%

Play this prop up to 48%.

Brady Tkachuk has cooled off since his back-to-back hat tricks earlier this month, but the Florida Panthers forward is still firing the puck at will.

Tkachuk leads the Panthers in shots (38) and shot attempts (67), while he's averaging 4.6 shots per game over his last five outings.

The Chicago Blackhawks are trying to be more competitive this season, but they don't look great so far. Chicago is tied for fifth-last in the NHL in shots against per game (30.3) and second-last in shot share at 5-on-5 (41.62%).

The Panthers, on the other hand, rank fifth in 5-on-5 shot share (56.19%) and sixth in expected goals (55.28%).

Goal scorer pick: Kirill Kaprizov

Novig probability: 55%

Playable up to 57%.

Kirill Kaprizov is already a four-time 40-goal scorer, but with 12 tallies in 12 games, he looks poised to set a new career high this season.

The Wild star has tickled the twine in five of his last six games, and eight of 12 overall this year. I like his chances to keep rolling against the worst defense in the NHL.

Vancouver ranks last in goals allowed per game (4.67), as well as second-last in both expected goals against per 60 (4.08) and scoring chances against per 60 (33.96).

Kaprizov, who's shooting an insane 28.6% so far this year, has accounted for nearly one-third of Minnesota's goals. The Wild put up five last night, and I foresee another lopsided score vs. the Canucks.
