The New York Rangers visit the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, Oct. 25. This marks the first meeting between these two Eastern Conference teams in 2026-27.
My Rangers vs. Senators predictions lean on a lopsided goaltending matchup in the absence of Linus Ullmark, with the Rangers' main trigger man looking to break out of what has been a slow start.
Read on for my NHL picks for this Saturday night matchup at Canadian Tire Centre.
Rangers vs Senators prediction: Rangers moneyline
The New York Rangers should benefit from the absence of Linus Ullmark in net. Samuel Ersson is winless through five starts with a horrid 4.59 GAA and an .835 SV%.
Meanwhile, Dylan Garand has been absolutely stellar filling in for the injured Igor Shesterkin. He's allowed two or fewer goals in eight of his last 10 starts, sporting a 2.30 GAA and .915 SV% through his eight starts this season.
The Ottawa Senators are coming off an ugly 6-2 loss to the San Jose Sharks and have the clear disadvantage in goal. There's a ton of value in the Rangers as underdogs.

Rangers vs Senators combo
The Rangers have a massive advantage in goal and an opportunity to expose a struggling netminder on the other side of the ice. Ullmark has been the best Sens' player this season, and they'll be without him tonight.
Adam Fox leads all NHL defensemen and is second in the NHL with 14 assists, hitting the Over in eight of his last 10 and fresh off a four-assist performance.
Pavel Dorofeyev has taken a whopping 31 shot attempts over his last four games and 64 over his last 10. He has 37 shots on goal in his first season with the Blueshirts.
Rangers vs Senators combo

- Adam Fox 1+ assists
- Pavel Dorofeyev 3+ shots
TOP PICK
Rangers vs Senators player prop: Adam Fox 1+ assists
Fox has racked up five assists in his last two games, including a four-helper performance on Thursday.
He's notched an apple in eight of his last 10, and only Evan Bouchard has recorded helpers at a higher rate than Fox's 70.6% (24/34) since March 1.
The 28-year-old is second among all defensemen in scoring this season, and his 14 helpers through 12 games lead all blueliners.
Rangers vs Senators goal scorer: Pavel Dorofeyev
No one in this matchup has scored more than Dorofeyev over the last two seasons.
His 74 goals since the start of 2024-25 are tied for sixth among RWs. Although he's scored just twice in his first 12 games as a Ranger, his shot volume certainly hasn't faltered. His 3.08 shots per game in 2026-27 nearly matches his career-best 3.10 mark two seasons ago.
His 34 power-play goals over the last two seasons trail only Wyatt Johnston and Leon Draisaitl, and he faces an Ottawa team taking the third-most penalties in the league and sporting the 19th-ranked penalty kill.
