Our prediction: Chiefs to win — Yes (72%) Trade now

Kansas City's offense looked sharp in Week 1, relying heavily on newly acquired running back Kenneth Walker III, who exploded for 173 yards and a touchdown in his team debut. The Chiefs are now poised to dominate time of possession at home while facing an Indianapolis Colts defense that surrendered over 200 yards on the ground to Baltimore last week.

Sunday Night Football spread prediction

Outcome Yes probability No probability
Kansas City Chiefs Chiefs -6.5 47% 54%

Our prediction: Chiefs -6.5 — Yes (47%)

Our Jon Metler is liking the Chiefs to cover at home tonight.

"With this number staying below the 7-point mark, I'm definitely laying the points with the Chiefs at -6.5 and 51%, as I make them closer to an 8-point favorite in this matchup.

We saw Walker erupt in Week 1, and I don't expect much to change here. Creed Humphrey and Trey Smith should be able to dominate the Colts' defensive line, get to the second level, and create cutback lanes for the explosive Walker.

The Colts' offense is better when playing from ahead, but as a big underdog, they could be forced to move away from Jonathan Taylor. That would put Jones in an uncomfortable position, especially against a blitz-heavy Steve Spagnuolo defense that should be able to pressure him into more turnover-worthy throws than Indianapolis would prefer."

Under 46.5 52% 48%

Market lean: Under 46.5 — Yes (52%)

NFL analyst Jason Logan leans Under 46.5 points as both teams prioritize heavy ground work. Read more in his Colts vs. Chiefs prediction.

"The Indianapolis Colts found themselves trailing big to Baltimore in Week 1, forcing them to play faster and abandon the run (37.7% run rate).

The Colts need this attack to flow through running back Jonathan Taylor, who had a great opener despite being invisible in the fourth quarter.

Quarterback Daniel Jones struggled against Baltimore’s blitz, taking two sacks and seven QB hits while completing 19 of 31 passes and averaging just 5.4 yards per attempt. He was the most pressured QB in Week 1.

Jones posted similar numbers against the Kansas City Chiefs' blitz-happy defense in Week 12 last season. Meanwhile, Kansas City wrecked Denver’s top-rated protection for four sacks and the eighth-best pressure rate on MNF.

As for Eric Bieniemy and the Chiefs offense, they ran at the fourth-highest rate on Monday, picking up 5.8 yards per carry and eating up almost 34 minutes of TOP with a patient approach."

Sunday Night Football player props

Rushing prop: Patrick Mahomes Over 224.5 passing yards — Yes (51%)

Our Geoff Clark thinks Patrick Mahomes is well-positioned to thrive tonight.

"Mahomes' passing prop was listed at 225.5 last week vs. the Broncos, but a run-heavy game script helped keep him below that number. The superstar gunslinger only needed to throw for 184 yards and finished with one of the shortest aDOTs in the NFL against a Denver defense with a much stronger secondary and pass rush than Indy.

With the Chiefs down several key pieces on defense, Mahomes could be forced into a more pass-heavy approach on SNF. He also threw for a season-high 352 yards in last year's 23-20 overtime win over Indy, which came after the Colts traded for Pro Bowl corner Sauce Gardner."

For more of Clark's analysis, head over to his Colts vs. Chiefs prop picks.

Receiving prop: Tyquan Thronton Over 14.5 receiving yards — Yes (54%)

Clark also believes in deep threat Tyquan Thornton.

"As long as Chiefs Thornton's receiving prop stays below 18 yards, I'm in.

Thornton gained at least 19 receiving yards in eight of his 14 games last season, and he also led the NFL with a massive 26.8-yard aDOT, eight yards higher than Pierce's mark. With that kind of downfield usage, one reception could be enough to get him past this number.

Additionally, Thornton played 68.1% of Kansas City's offensive snaps in Week 1 after logging just a 38.3% snap share last season."

Chiefs anytime touchdown prop: Travis Kelce anytime touchdown — Yes (35%)

Clark also laid out his Colts vs. Chiefs touchdown picks, and he's leaning toward Travis Kelce.

"This is partially a fade of Indy's weak defensive spine. Colts linebacker Jaylon Carlies had a failing coverage grade in Week 1, according to Pro Football Focus, while rookie safety A.J. Haulcy's coverage grade was even worse.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has always found creative ways to get Kelce the ball, whether it be on a tight end screen or another gadget play. I could see Reid "getting in his bag" on Sunday with Kansas City lacking game-breakers out wide.

Colts vs Chiefs live markets explained

Kalshi event contracts can be bought and sold as the Colts vs. Chiefs unfolds, meaning traders aren't necessarily locked into their original pregame position.

The probabilities will move throughout the game as the score, time remaining, possession, and game state change.

How do Colts vs Chiefs prediction markets work?

Kalshi is a federally regulated U.S. exchange where users trade directly on the outcome of real-world future events. Instead of traditional bets, users trade event contracts based on simple Yes/No questions such as "Will the Colts beat the Chiefs?"

Contract prices reflect the market's estimated probability of an outcome. A contract trading at 23%, for example, indicates that the market is assigning that outcome roughly a 23% chance of occurring. If the prediction is correct, the contract settles at $1; if it is incorrect, it settles at $0.

How does Kalshi differ from sportsbooks?

At a traditional sportsbook, bettors wager against prices established by the bookmaker. Kalshi instead operates as an exchange, with users trading event contracts against other market participants.

Another major difference is the ability to exit a position before an event is finished. If the probability of your Colts vs. Chiefs position increases during the game, you can sell the contract rather than waiting for the final result.

Why trade Colts vs Chiefs at Kalshi?

Kalshi offers several features that distinguish prediction markets from traditional pro football betting:

  1. Live flexibility: Contracts can be bought and sold as market probabilities change throughout the game.

  2. Probability-based pricing: Markets display the estimated likelihood of an outcome rather than traditional American odds.

  3. Transparency: Prices are driven by trading activity between market participants.

  4. Federal regulation: Kalshi operates as a CFTC-regulated exchange.
