We like Kansas City to win 27–21, with Colts +6.5 getting the narrow nod against the spread. Indianapolis is shifting defensive communication duties to linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither after alignment problems contributed to its 41–23 opening loss to Baltimore. That gives the Colts a specific problem to address, but Patrick Mahomes and a Chiefs offense coming off a 31-point opener will test the fix immediately. Our six-point margin leaves just half a point inside the spread, so this is a close call on Indianapolis keeping it competitive.
Over 46.5 is the total pick against our 48-point projection. Kansas City gets the larger share of that forecast, but we still have Indianapolis reaching 21 points. The Chiefs will be without defensive back Chamarri Conner, while Chris Jones and cornerback Mansoor Delane are questionable on the final injury report. Those concerns strengthen the case for the Colts contributing on the scoreboard. With only 1.5 points between the line and our projection, though, this is a modest Over lean.
