The third and final chapter of a film trilogy tends to miss more often than it hits. For every “Return of the King,” we get plenty of “Rise of Skywalker.”
What does the third battle between the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears have in store? We’ll find out in tonight’s Wild Card clash at Soldier Field.
One thing my Packers vs. Bears predictions do know: we’ll see plenty of Green Bay receiver Jayden Reed — through the air and on the ground — when the whistle blows in the Windy City.
Here are my best NFL picks for Saturday, January 10.
Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. ET from Soldier Field in Chicago, with the game airing on Prime Video.
Packers vs Bears prediction
Packers vs Bears Best bet: Jayden Reed Over 40.5 rushing + receiving yards (-114)
Jayden Reed is the Green Bay Packers’ primary slot receiver, a role that has consistently given the Chicago Bears problems. In two meetings with Chicago, Reed posted three catches for 35 yards in one game and four receptions for 41 yards in the other.
Reed’s impact isn’t limited to the passing game. Against the Bears, he’s also been used as a ball carrier, logging three rushes for 28 total yards across those two matchups.
Most receiving projections have Reed hovering around 45 yards, while his rushing props typically assume at least one carry, with a ceiling of 5.5 rushing yards.

Packers vs Bears same-game parlay
The Bears are in far better shape than their divisional rivals, with the Packers dealing with injuries on both sides of the ball. Chicago’s rushing attack has been especially impressive down the stretch, and that will provide the foundation for a Wild Card win by the “Monsters of the Midway.”
Reed has been a Swiss Army knife since returning from injury in December and should be at full strength for this matchup. The Packers’ slot receiver draws a favorable matchup against a Chicago secondary that has struggled to contain slot wideouts.
D’Andre Swift leads Chicago’s two-headed backfield, giving the Bears one of the league’s more effective ground games in the second half of the season. He’s a threat to score on the ground or through the air and has already totaled 10 touchdowns this year.
Packers vs Bears SGP (+588)
- Bears moneyline
- Jayden Reed Over 40.5 rushing + receiving yards
- D’Andre Swift anytime touchdown
Our big-ticket SGP: The Gift of Swift
I bet the Bears to cover in the Wild Card Round, basing that handicap on Chicago’s ability to run the ball.
Swift isn’t just a weapon on the ground. He’s a great pass-catching option with projections calling for 16+ receiving yards.
The veteran running back has doubled up on tuddies in two of his last four outings.
Packers vs Bears SGP (+2140)
- Bears moneyline
- D’Andre Swift Over 13.5 receiving yards
- D’Andre Swift to score 2+ touchdowns
Packers vs Bears game predictions
Packers vs Bears moneyline prediction
This game has jumped back and forth across the market since opening last Sunday night. We’ve seen Chicago as a home favorite and Green Bay as road chalk.
I’m backing the Bears, as they’re in much better shape than the Packers right now. Green Bay’s defense has been dreadful down the stretch.
Packers vs Bears spread prediction
If you read my “NFL Underdogs” column for the Wild Card Round, you’ll see that I’m taking the +1.5 with Chicago.
As mentioned above, the Bears’ path to victory is built on the ground game. They can control pace and possession against a Green Bay run defense that has been gashed since losing key bodies in the trenches.
Packers vs Bears Over/Under prediction
There’s enough firepower on the field to top the total, but a run-centric Chicago attack could keep gains shorter with the clock ticking.
Adding to the case is a wintry forecast, with “feels like” temperatures around 9 degrees, wind gusts up to 39 mph, and possible snow in the first half of Saturday night.
I’d lean Under.
Packers vs Bears odds
- Spread: Packers -1.5 (-114) | Bears +1.5 (-106)
- Moneyline: Packers -126 | Bears +108
- Over/Under: Over 44.5 (-115) | Under 44.5 (-105)
