We're at the midway mark of the NFL season, which makes backing up your NFL picks with the best of the numbers all the more important. Jason Logan jumps on the Jags now, but waits on this home dog in Week 9.

It’s officially “Living on a Prayer” week as the NFL schedule is halfway there.

At this point in the season, getting the best of the NFL odds requires technique and timing. Each Sunday night, I highlight my NFL predictions to take now, and put a pin a couple of lines that could hold value after the market moves later.

Here are my best NFL picks to trade now and later in Week 9.

Jaguars -7.5 at Ravens: Trade Now

The Baltimore Ravens won’t have Lamar Jackson for the foreseeable future and could be down to a third-string QB when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football.

Backup QB Tyler Huntley suffered a toe injury in the loss to Buffalo as well, turning the keys over to *check notes*… Joe Fagnano. The Ravens went into Week 8 with injuries up and down the offensive line, and the short turnaround for TNF leaves Jesse Minter little time to adjust.

Jacksonville stomped a mud hole in Indianapolis this weekend, showcasing why its one of the best two-way teams in the NFL. The Jaguars scored four sacks and forced three turnovers from the Colts, continuing to create “game-changing” plays on defense. They allowed only 3.9 yards per play while holding Indy to 3-for-11 on third downs.

This 7.5-point spread is going to jump to the underrated key number of -8, and with more money showing up in the next couple days, it wouldn’t shock me to see this at Jaguars -9 or higher. Get 'em now.

Bills at Vikings +2.5: Trade Later

The Minnesota Vikings finally got a nasty mouthful of defeat in Detroit this Sunday, falling 19-15 for their first loss of the season.

The Vikings find themselves as underdogs at home to the Buffalo Bills on Monday night in Week 9, with the opener just shy of the field goal.

The Bills squashed a snake-bitten Baltimore squad Sunday, throwing salt in the Ravens’ multiple wounds with a 36-10 beatdown. Buffalo doesn’t lack public support, especially with folks waving the “fraud” flag for Minnesota.

If you’re not among those writing off the Vikes, wait and see if this spread gets to a field goal or bigger. We’re already seeing some Minnesota -3 pop up or massive vig on the -2.5.

Cowboys at Colts Over 52: Trade Now

The Dallas Cowboys have proven it doesn’t matter who’s under center, they’re going to make them look like Peyton "Frickin" Manning.

Dallas just got roasted by Gardner Minshew and the Arizona Cardinals, allowing 467 yards in an overtime upset in Week 8. That helped produced the sixth Over winner in the Cowboys’ eight games.

The Indianapolis Colts may look like they need all the help they can get after scoring a combined 17 points the past two weeks. However, those offensive results came against Jacksonville and Minnesota — two of the top defensive teams in the NFL. The Cowboys are nowhere near that stingy.

Dallas should be able to counter the butt-ton of points allowed with their own offensive eruption. The Cowboys are still a Top 5 attack and faces an Indianapolis defense that’s almost as bad as they are. Almost.

I’m jumping on the Over now, especially with this one coming inside the fast track of Lucas Oil Field, and Dallas losing two starting members of the secondary on Sunday.

Bengals vs. Falcons Under 49.5: Trade Later

The total is ticking up for this international affair. The Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons meet in Madrid, Spain, drawing a beefy number in Week 9.

Cincinnati needed 43 points to dodge a bullet from Tennessee in overtime. The Bengals kept giving the Titans life, with four turnovers juicing Tennessee’s offensive output.

The Falcons also had a funky Week 7 result, as rainstorms in Tampa dampened their offensive efforts, literally and figuratively. Yet, we’re seeing this opening Over/Under climb toward the key number of 51 points.

This is a weird week for any team, with international travel, off-field commitments, time change, and a neutral soccer field gumming up the works. I’m interested to watch this total and see if we get on the other side of 51 points later in the week before buying back the Under.
