Young Bo Nix steps into the belly of the beast in Week 5, with his Denver Broncos visiting the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Nix gets his first taste of Vic Fangio’s defense, which is tough to decipher for even the savviest quarterback. Fangio had kind words for the second-year quarterback earlier this week while also noting: “He’s a scrambler”.

My Broncos vs. Eagles predictions expect Bo to use his legs a lot in my NFL picks for today's game.

Broncos vs Eagles prediction

Broncos vs Eagles Best bet: Bo Nix Over 19.5 rushing yards (-114)

Fangio is right in his assessment of Bo Nix. He’s put up rushing efforts of 18, 20, and 33 yards in the first three games of the season, before Monday’s blowout of Cincinnati saw Nix amass only seven yards on the ground.

Nix ranks fifth among all quarterbacks in rushing attempts per game, including 10th in designed runs (2.0 per game). But it’s his ability to escape pressure that will do him the most good on Sunday.

Fangio’s schemes are extremely tough to untangle, coming out in two-high shell looks each snap to disguise the coverage. The Philadelphia Eagles generate pressure with just the front four (rated No. 4 in pass rush at PFF) and don’t blitz at a high rate, which allows the linebackers to clog up passing lanes.

The Denver Broncos' offensive line has done a great job protecting Nix — sitting No. 1 in pass block win rate at ESPN — but as he goes through his progressions, he’ll find it much harder to hit his top options versus Philly. That will have Nix’s internal clock ticking down as the Eagles' pressure closes in, forcing him to flee the pocket to keep plays alive.

Philadelphia hasn’t faced a quarterback as dangerous with his legs as Nix yet this season, taking on Baker Mayfield, Matthew Stafford, Patrick Mahomes, and Dak Prescott — all primarily pocket passers. Mahomes did, however, run seven times for 66 yards against the Eagles in Week 2.

This Week 5 rushing total has dropped from a number 22.5 O/U in Week 4 (Nix didn’t need to run/risk much versus Cincinnati) despite a greater need for Nix to make plays with his legs at Philadelphia.

Player projections for Denver’s QB all come in above this total, ranging from 19.8 to a ceiling of 28.24 rushing yards. Nix has rushed for 18 yards or more in three of four games in 2025 and has gone Over this bar in eight of his last nine outings overall, going back to last season.

Broncos vs Eagles same-game parlay

The Eagles have been playing with fire, and Denver presents a tough test with an elite defense.

Nix can do damage with his legs and will make plays when pressure comes after him.

Cash in on the “Tush Push” while you can. Jalen Hurts is going to get those goal-line carries.

Broncos vs Eagles SGP

  • Broncos +4.5
  • Bo Nix Over 19.5 rushing yards
  • Jalen Hurts anytime touchdown

Our big-ticket SGP: Let's ride!

I like the Broncos as underdogs on the other side of +4. Nix’s projections call for as many as 25 yards rushing. “Brotherly Shove” is always a live SGP add. J.K Dobbins is coming off a big Monday effort.

Broncos vs Eagles SGP

  • Broncos +4.5
  • Bo Nix Over 19.5 rushing yards
  • Jalen Hurts anytime touchdown
  • J.K. Dobbins anytime touchdown

Broncos vs Eagles game predictions

Broncos vs Eagles moneyline prediction

Despite being outgained in all four games — all four wins — the Eagles are a handful. Given the spread range (-4/-4.5), we often see those favorites win outright but fail to cover ATS. I could see Philadelphia pulling out another close call in Week 5.

Broncos vs Eagles spread prediction

If you read my weekly “NFL Underdogs” column, you’ll see that I’m on the Broncos +4.5. Denver’s defense is the best Philly has faced all season, and four is an undervalued key number in NFL betting. Getting the hook on the other side of that is key to underdog betting.

Broncos vs Eagles Over/Under prediction

Philadelphia’s run defense isn’t great, ranking 27th in EPA allowed per handoff and, more telling, 32nd in opponent success rate per run. That means the Broncos have a shot to “Eagles” the Eagles, and chew up time and possession. I’ll lean toward the Under.

Broncos vs Eagles odds

  • Spread: Broncos +5.5 | Eagles -5.5
  • Moneyline: Broncos +207 | Eagles -242
  • Over/Under: Over 43.5 | Under 43.5
