We get our second Sunday of the season. The NFL Week 2 odds are humming with action before kickoff, with some major moves to spreads and totals.

This is one of the trickier weeks of wagering, as bettors have to be careful not to overreact to Week 1 results and read into those outcomes a little deeper. Are teams really as good or as bad as they looked?

One more game is on the slate as the Philadelphia Eagles are home favorites against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football.

Here's a look at the opening NFL odds for Week 2 and what's driving those spreads and totals on Sunday.

These are the current NFL odds for Week 2 with Monday's finale looming.

Saints vs. Cowboys odds

Opening line

The Saints and Cowboys each won big in Week 1, but it seems Dallas' victory over Cleveland holds a little more weight than NOLA squashing Carolina. The opening spread of Cowboys -6 had jumped around -6.5 before settling back at the original number, where it sits on Sunday. The total hit the board at 44.5 and is up to 46.5 O/U.

Raiders vs. Ravens odds

Opening line

Baltimore has had a week and a half to stew on its near win in Arrowhead Stadium last Thursday. The Ravens get to take out those frustrations on the Raiders in Week 2. Books opened Baltimore at -8 and it quickly climbed to -8.5 and even -9.5 before coming back down, sitting at -8.5 this morning. The total opened at 42.5 points and has since dropped a point to 41.5.

Weather

Giants vs. Commanders odds

Opening line

The Giants' dismal effort against Minnesota on Sunday has bumped the look-ahead line for this NFC East game from Commanders -1.5 to an official opener of -2.5. Washington was as high as -3 at some books before money on the G-Men brought us back to Washington -1.5 by Wednesday. This total opened at 41 points and has leaped to 43.5.

Chargers vs. Panthers odds

Opening line

Another team seeing a major shift between the look-ahead line and the official Week 2 spread is Carolina. The Panthers were putrid in a big loss to New Orleans, bumping the look-ahead line from +3 to +4.5 hosting the Chargers. Los Angeles got as big as -6.5 before buyback on Carolina cut this spread to as low as -4.5 on Sunday morning. The total opened as a low 39.5 points O/U and has trimmed further to 38.5.

Weather

Colts vs. Packers odds

Opening line

Green Bay was originally on track to be a 3.5-point favorite but the knee injury to QB Jordan Love has flipped this market, with the Cheeseheads now 3-point underdogs at home to Indianapolis. That got as high as +3.5 before underdog money took the Packers, which has the spread down to Colts -2.5 on Sunday morning. The total was at a look-ahead spot of 47.5 but the official number without Love is at 40.5.

49ers vs. Vikings odds

Opening line

The 49ers looked strong on defense in their Monday night debut, which has oddsmakers opening San Francisco as 5.5-point road favorites against former backup QB Sam Darnold and the Vikings. Some books jumped to Niners -6 on Tuesday morning but this is back to -5 and -4.5 across the board, with Christian McCaffrey now on IR. This total has jumped a point from 45.5 to 46 O/U.

Weather

Browns vs. Jaguars odds

Opening line

Cleveland's offense was punchless in an opening loss to Dallas, especially QB1 Deshaun Watson. Look-ahead lines were at Jaguars -1.5 before that finish, leaving the official opener to come in at Jacksonville -3 even with the Jags letting a Week 1 win over the Dolphins slip through their fingers. That spread got as high as Jacksonville -4 before action on the underdog took the line back to a field goal. This total opened at 42.5 points and sits at 41.5 on Sunday morning. The Browns are down standout TE David Njoku (ankle).

Weather

Seahawks vs. Patriots odds

Opening line

New England gave us the upset of Week 1, knocking off Cincinnati on the road. The Patriots opened as 3-point home underdogs to the Seahawks, who travel across the country for this 1 p.m. ET start. Seattle money added an extra half a point to the spread, with New England getting +3.5 on gameday. This Over/Under opened at 40 points and is down to 38 on Sunday morning.

Weather

Jets vs. Titans odds

Opening line

The Jets looked great for about a drive in Monday's loss at San Francisco, with more questions around the defense than Aaron Rodgers' performance at QB. Bookies opened New York as a 4.5-point road favorite against a Titans squad that blew a big Week 1 lead. That spread is bouncing between -3.5 and -4 on Sunday morning. This official Week 2 total hit the board at 41.5 points and sits at 41 on gameday.

Buccaneers vs. Lions odds

Opening line

Tampa Bay looked strong in a Week 1 win over Washington but that hasn't slowed books from pricing the Bucs as 7-point underdogs in Detroit this Sunday. Money on the fave has this spread at -7.5 with some books at -8. The Lions needed overtime to escape the Rams in Week 1. This total opened at 48.5 O/U but has soared to 51.5 as of Sunday morning.

Weather

Rams vs. Cardinals odds

Opening line

Both the Cardinals and Rams put up a good fight in their 2024 openers but came up short on the road. Arizona impressed oddsmakers the most, dropping the look-ahead line from Cardinals +2.5 to +1.5 at opening. Los Angeles has injuries on both sides of the ball, and that's push this spread over the fence to Arizona -1 on Sunday morning. The total hit the board as low as 48.5 and went as high as 50 before the buyback trimmed the total to 48 points.

Weather

Steelers vs. Broncos odds

Opening line

The Over/Under for this game sees the biggest swing in terms of look-ahead lines vs. the official Week 2 opener. Before the events of Week 1, this total was at 41.5 points, but with the Broncos struggling to move the ball under rookie QB Bo Nix and the Steelers settling with QB2 Justin Fields (Russell Wilson out with a calf), this number hit the board at 37.5 O/U and has fallen even further to 36.5 at midweek. Pittsburgh is a 2.5-point fave in Mile High after opening at -3.

Weather

Bengals vs. Chiefs odds

Opening line

How much is a loss to the Patriots worth to the spread? How about 2.5 points? The look-ahead line for this AFC showdown was Kansas City -3.5 but after the Bengals botched the opener, books are serving the Chiefs as 6-point home chalk coming off a mini-bye after winning last Thursday. Action on Cincinnati dropped that to +5.5 but as of Sunday morning you can find the Chiefs between -5.5 and -6.5 across the market. The total opened at 47 points and has ticked up a full point to 48. Cincy WR Tee Higgins is once again out for the Bengals.

Bears vs. Texans odds

Opening line

In the summer, look-ahead lines had Houston as a 3.5-point chalk against Chicago. After the Bears somehow got past the Titans in a Week 1 comeback, the market has swung big time with the official Week 2 spread at Texans -6.5 before ticking back to -6 hours before kick-off. This total has ticked up half a point from the opener to an even 46.

Falcons vs. Eagles odds

Opening line

The Falcons were supposed to be the sleeper in the NFC but forgot to wake up in time for Week 1, losing a grinder to Pittsburgh at home. Now, Atlanta travels to Philly to face an Eagles team enjoying a mini-bye after playing in Brazil last Friday. The look-ahead spread was Philadelphia -3.5 but books opened the official Week 2 line at Eagles -6 with the total at 48.5 points before moving to Philly -6.5, 47 O/U by Friday. That spread has dropped to -5.5 with the total at 45.5 by Monday morning.
