Last year's Defensive Rookie of the Year — Micah Parsons — is the current Defensive Player of the Year frontrunner at +200, followed by Myles Garrett and Nick Bosa.
Los Angeles Chargers' defensive end Joey Bosa is no longer on the odds board following a groin injury that will force him to undergo surgery.

Favorites to win the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award
Micah Parsons (+200)
After winning Defensive Rookie of the Year last season, Micah Parsons is already tied for second in league sacks with four.
Parsons finished with 13 sacks in his rookie campaign with the Dallas Cowboys, resulting in the former Penn State star being named first-team All-Pro. With what we saw in the first three games, the 23-year-old is as good a bet for Defensive Player of the year honors as anyone else in 2022.
Myles Garrett (+600)
The former No. 1 pick was one of the lone bright spots for the Cleveland Browns in 2021, accumulating an impressive 16 sacks in his fifth NFL season.
Myles Garrett picked up two sacks in the Browns' Week 1 road win in Carolina and added one more in Week 2.
Garrett was involved in a car accident on Monday and his status for Week 4 against Atlanta is currently up in the air. However, for now, Garrett still remains second on the odds board behind Parsons.
Nick Bosa, Aaron Donald (+1,100)
The 2019 Defensive Rookie of the Year will need to play a large role in helping get the San Francisco 49ers back atop the NFC West, as the 49ers have already lost starting QB Trey Lance for the remainder of the season.
Bosa recorded 15.5 sacks last season after tearing his ACL in Week 2 of the 2020 campaign.
Donald, a former three-time winner of this award, continues to put forth strong numbers, with two sacks and 10 tackles through three games thus far for the defending Super Bowl champs.
NFL Defensive Player of the Year betting trends
• Since this award was first given out in 1974, seven defensive players have claimed this award more than once. However, no defensive back has ever won it multiple times.
• The NFL DPOY odds board is filled with pass rushers for 2021, which is little surprise given that eight of the last 10 winners of the award totaled at least 11 sacks.
• While voters for the NFL MVP Award seem to take team success into the equation, the same hasn't necessarily been true for DPOY accolades. Four of the last seven winners of the DPOY award were on defenses that ranked outside the Top 10.
