The Vegas Golden Knights return home to host the Florida Panthers at T-Mobile Arena on Thursday night.
The Panthers are red-hot to start the new year, having racked up five straight wins in the NHL odds. On the other hand, the Golden Knights have lost five of their last six games.

The Florida Panthers beat the Vegas Golden Knights at home back on December 23 to start their six-game winning streak. The Cats had revenge on their minds after last year’s Stanley Cup loss and they were able to at least come away with two points.
Florida has been one of the best teams in the league this season and has the fifth-best xGF% (54.85%) at 5-on-5. Vegas, meanwhile, has dipped down to 51.87%. That difference has been clear in the last 10 games, with the Panthers boasting the league’s second-best xGF% (58.34%) while the Knights are just under 50%.
The road hasn’t been too kind to the Panthers in recent years but they’re exorcising their demons a bit this season with an 11-7-2 record away from home. They kicked off their road trip with a win in Arizona on Tuesday night.
"It's just always nice to win the first game and try and go from there," Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk said after the win. "We're going into a tough, hostile environment next game and going in with a winning streak is going to hopefully give us a little advantage."
While the Panthers are streaking, the Golden Knights are sliding. They’ve been battling through injuries to some key pieces and haven’t had the most favorable schedule as of late. After a four-game road trip, the Golden Knights beat the Kings at home before getting shut out in the Winter Classic.
"You'll always remember that game as a loser," said Vegas forward Jonathan Marchessault. "So, it's really disappointing for our group, and we know we're a good team, but right now we're not playing our best hockey all together and we've got to find a way to get more consistency."
Vegas has lost five of its last six games and it doesn’t get any easier coming up. The Knights have been without Shea Theodore for over a month now, starting goalie Adin Hill is out for a few more weeks, and second-line center William Karlsson has been ruled out for Thursday night.
