The Seattle Kraken are home favorites over the Calgary Flames ahead of their 10 p.m. ET puck drop at Climate Pledge Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
I see this as a coin-flip game, so my favorite Flames vs. Kraken prediction and NHL picks call for a Calgary upset in The Emerald City tonight.
TOP PICK
Flames vs Kraken prediction: Flames moneyline
My numbers give the Calgary Flames a 50% chance of winning this game.
The Seattle Kraken have the second-highest PDO at 5-on-5 in the league despite ranking last in Corsi For percentage and 29th in expected goals percentage.
In particular, the Kraken sport the highest team shooting percentage in the NHL at 5-on-5, which is set for a statistical freefall in short order.
So, with Calgary ranking 12th in CF%, 10th in xGF% and last in PDO, I’m happy to take the Flames as an underdog in a game I price as a coin flip.

Flames vs Kraken combo
With Seattle's scoring set up for a statistical correction and Calgary allowing just 2.28 goals per 60 minutes at 5-on-5 during a 6-2 run, I’m anticipating a low-scoring game at Climate Pledge tonight.
Flames starter Dustin Wolf has posted a .917 SV% with 1.67 goals saved above expected across his past three appearances, too.
Turning to Calgary winger Matvei Gridin, he’s recorded two or more shots in 10 of 15 games, ranking second on the team. I also value him jumping the boards with the No. 1 power-play unit and pacing the Flames with a 56.4 CF% and 58.3% shot share at 5-on-5.
Flames vs Kraken combo
- Flames moneyline
- Under 6.5
- Matvei Gridin 2+ shots
Flames vs Kraken player prop: Berkly Catton 1+ points
Seattle center Berkly Catton has found an offensive groove, posting a six-game point streak with two goals and five assists while pacing the Kraken with a 51.5 xGF%.
His power-play time has jumped up to 3:12 per game during the stretch, and he’s taking 67.7% of his faceoffs in the offensive zone for the year.
The game is clearly slowing down for Catton, and I recommend this prop up to 48%.
Flames vs Kraken goal scorer: Yegor Sharangovich
The former 30-goal scorer has gone seven games without finding the back of the net, and Flames winger Yegor Sharangovich’s shooting percentage is down to 8.0% for the season.
There’s been an uptick in shots (five) and attempts (11) from the Belarusian in the past two games, so Sharangovich has my eye to score tonight with the Kraken allowing the fourth-most goals per game (3.71).
I would consider this goal prop up to 21%.
