The NFL schedule turns the calendar to October in Week 5. 

The NFL Week 5 odds begin with another NFC West war on Thursday night, this time between the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams.
 
We get another early wake-up call when the Minnesota Vikings take on the Cleveland Browns in London on Sunday morning, followed by a marquee non-conference matchup between the Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles.

Prime time pits the New England Patriots against the rival Buffalo Bills on Sunday night, and the Kansas City Chiefs come to Duval County to clash with the Jacksonville Jaguars in Monday’s finale.

Here’s a look at the opening odds for NFL Week 5 and where those lines have moved in the first 12 hours of betting action.

Opening line

The Rams slayed the dragon that was the Colts in Week 4, while the Niners struggled in a loss to the Jaguars. That bumped this opener to L.A. -3.5 from the look-ahead line of a field goal. The total also took a dip, opening at 46.5 O/U (look-ahead total was 47.5).

Vikings vs Browns odds  (Sunday, 9:30 a.m. ET, NFL Network)

Opening line

The Vikings stay on the other side of the pond after losing to the Steelers in Dublin on Sunday morning. Minnesota opened -4.5 but sank to -3.5 with questions still surrounding the QB position and injuries mounting on both sides of the ball. The total opened at 47.5 and slimmed to 46.5 O/U.

Dolphins vs Panthers odds (Sunday, 1:00 p.m. ET, FOX)

Opening line

Miami picked up its first win of the season on Monday and now has a short week before facing Carolin. The Dolphins are down WR Tyreek Hill for the season after a gruesome knee injury in Week 4. The Fins were -1.5 look-ahead favorites but officially opened as +1.5 dogs. The total hit the board at 44.5 O/U.

Opening line

The Ravens are coming off a one-sided loss at Kansas City, and the health of QB Lamar Jackson (hamstring) is dragging this spread down.
