It’s the first Sunday of the season, and in the Las Vegas Raiders and New England Patriots, we get a chance to see two teams that are both tracking to ascend this season.
There have been significant changes in the Raiders organization during the offseason, both in staffing and personnel, and our Raiders vs. Patriots predictions expect them to get off to a winning start.

Raiders vs Patriots prediction
Raiders vs Patriots Best bet: Las Vegas Raiders moneyline (+114)
The New England Patriots are a team who are steadily improving, with Drake Maye showing real glimpses of being a franchise quarterback last year. There’s valid optimism that they’ve found their post-Brady QB.
May should improve in his second year, but while they’ve added some talent onto the roster, it’s still looking like a tough ask for new defensive coordinator Terrell Williams to hugely improve a defense that ranked third last in defensive DVOA last year.
For the Las Vegas Raiders, this feels like a watershed moment. In one offseason, they’ve added an experienced Super Bowl-winning head coach and a man who can truly change the team's culture.
They’ve now got a very good signal caller in Geno Smith and somebody with the talent to lead this offense, as well as drafting Ashton Jeanty, the running back who tore up college football last year.
Combine that with elite lynchpins in Maxx Crosby and Brock Bowers on both sides of the ball, and you have a team ready to improve and improve very quickly.
Raiders vs Patriots same-game parlay
In addition to our best bet for the game, we’re also going to Ashton Jeanty to score his first NFL touchdown. He had 30 touchdowns for Boise State last season and given the importance of the run to Pete Carroll teams, he should have plenty of opportunity.
The second leg of this SGP is for Brock Bowers to have seven or more receptions. He had seven or more targets in six of eight games post-Week 10 bye last year, and with Amari Cooper retiring, a barren WR corps, and an upgrade at QB, we should see a big game from Bowers.

First up, we’re backing TreVeyon Henderson to score. He looked exceptionally dangerous in preseason and adds real explosion to the Patriots’ offense.
We’re also backing Drake Maye to have Over 29.5 rushing yards. If you remove the Week 18 game in which he was only on the field briefly, he’s had 30 or more rushing yards in three of his past four games.
