The Chicago Cubs are looking to sweep their three-game set against the Chicago White Sox this weekend. They've outscored their cross-town rivals 20-6 through two games at Wrigley Field and are huge favorites on Sunday afternoon.

My White Sox vs. Cubs predictions look to the home side to win another game by multiple runs.

Find out why in my best MLB picks on Sunday, May 18.

White Sox vs Cubs prediction

My White Sox vs Cubs best bet: Cubs -1.5 (-125 at Caesars)

It's a tale of two teams in the Windy City this season. After a rather aggressive offseason, the Chicago Cubs are off to a 27-19 start this season, including 14-10 at home, to lead the NL Central. On the flip side, the Chicago White Sox have the second-worst record in MLB at 14-32 with just five wins in 25 tries on the road.

Colin Rea takes the mound for the Cubs on Sunday afternoon. The righthander is 3-0 with a 2.48 ERA and 1.21 WHIP in nine games (six starts). He's helped the Cubs to victory in all but one of his starts for a 5-1 record in those contests.

The White Sox will counter with righthander Jonathan Cannon in the series finale. He's 2-4 with a respectable 3.60 ERA in nine games (seven starts), but his 1.36 WHIP tells more of the story.

Cannon has allowed at least six hits in each of his last four starts, with the Astros and Royals spraying nine hits each across six innings. He limited the damage to just two runs in each of those outings, but he may not be as lucky against the Cubs.

Of the Cubs' 26 wins this season, 20 of them have been by at least two runs. You may consider even taking the -2.5 run line, given the fact that the Cubs have covered that in 18 of 26 victories.

Caesars QuickPick: Our White Sox vs Cubs same-game parlay (SGP)

Cubs -1.5

Over 7.5

Seiya Suzuki Over 1.5 total bases

The Cubs should be able to score most of the eight runs we need to hit this over. They've scored 13 and 7 runs in the first two games of this series and the Over is 25-16 in Cubs game this season. The White Sox don't have a great offense but they rarely get shut out. They have at least three runs in five of their last six games.

Seiya Suzuki is heating up for the Cubs with 10 total bases in his last three games, including six in two games against the White Sox. He’s gone Over 1.5 Total Bases in three straight games and four of his last five contests for a 48% hit rate (52% at home) this season.
