Stampeders 22, Eskimos 12: Jon Cornish racked up 177 all-purpose yards and a touchdown while Rene Paredes knocked down five field goals as visiting Calgary prevailed over struggling Edmonton in a Labour Day rematch.

After nearly blowing a 30-point, fourth-quarter lead in their previous meeting four days earlier, the Stampeders' defense was strong from start to finish as Calgary (8-2) moved into a tie with the idle B.C. Lions atop the West Division. Cornish posted his fourth 100-yard rushing performance of the season while Bo Levi Mitchell, making his second career start, completed 19-of-26 passes for 175 yards with a touchdown and an interception.

Mike Reilly was 16-of-26 for 194 yards as Edmonton (1-9) dropped its eighth straight game, its longest such streak since 1971. John White ran for 89 yards and a score while Marcus Henry led the receiving corps with four receptions for 73 yards.

After Stampeders defensive lineman Ben D'Aguilar recovered a Cary Koch muffed punt deep in Edmonton territory, Mitchell needed just two plays to put Calgary on the board as he found Cornish for an 11-yard touchdown strike less than four minutes into the game. The Eskimos turned the tables midway through the second quarter, capitalizing on a Chris Thompson interception with a 1-yard scoring run by White as Calgary clung to a 10-9 lead at the half.

Two Paredes field goals stretched the advantage to seven points early in the fourth quarter, and he added a 50-yarder later in the period to restore that lead after Edmonton's Hugh O'Neill connected on a 14-yard kick. Paredes then made it a two-possession game with a 42-yarder with 1:44 remaining, and Calgary held on from there.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Koch was helped off the field favoring his right knee midway through the opening quarter and did not return. ... Edmonton WR Adarius Bowman saw his first game action since suffering a major knee injury in Week 2 of the 2012 season. Bowman finished with five catches for 48 yards. ... O'Neill missed field-goal attempts of 35 and 24 yards in the first half, drawing boos from the Commonweath Stadium crowd.
