Offense won't be an issue when the Saskatchewan Roughriders face off against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Saturday.

Last week, the Roughriders scored 31 points and recorded 366 total yards in a win over the Ottawa Redblacks. Meanwhile, the Tiger-Cats generated 26 points and 350 yards in their loss to the Stampeders.

My Roughriders vs. Tiger-Cats predictions expect this to be another high-scoring affair.

Roughriders vs Tiger-Cats prediction

My Roughriders vs Tiger-Cats pick: Over 51.5 (-115 at BET99)

The Saskatchewan Roughriders swept both regular-season games against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last year, but my best bet is zeroing in on both teams putting up points Saturday.

Hamilton surrendered 428 total yards last week, which was the second most in the CFL. That was despite facing only 28 passing plays and 31 rushing plays, so Riders' quarterback Trevor Harris will be ready to feast.

Saskatchewan's defense wasn't any better, allowing 398 net yards and 413 passing yards. This game will likely follow a similar pattern, with Ticats' gunslinger Bo Levi Mitchell relying heavily on the pass. Last week, he threw for 304 yards and a touchdown, and in his 18 career starts against the Riders, he's averaged 254.7 passing yards and 1.7 touchdowns per game.

Meanwhile, both defenses are banged up entering the weekend. The Tiger-Cats are missing three defensive backs, while the Roughriders will be without two of their own.

I expect similar scoring to last season’s matchups, making the Over a smart Week 2 play.

Roughriders vs Tiger-Cats same-game parlay (SGP)

Over 51.5

Roughriders -2.5

To go with our best bet on the Over, I am going to take the Roughriders to cover the spread on the road. The road team has won two of the last three matchups between these two teams.

While neither defense is great, the Roughriders are way more efficient on offense. They should be able to take an early lead, and although they struggled in the fourth quarter last week, I expect them to clean that up and not look back.
