My Lions vs Roughriders pick: Under 50.5 (-110 at BET99)
The Saskatchewan Roughriders will start backup QB Jake Maier due to Trevor Harris suffering a head injury last week. Harris missed six games last season, and the Riders' offense struggled mightily in his absence.
BC Lions signal-caller Nathan Rourke will be a game-time decision but he took zero reps in practice yesterday, with Jeremiah Masoli and Chase Brice splitting first-team reps.
The key injuries for these attacks don't end there. The Riders will also be missing two of their top receivers in Samuel Emilus and Shawn Bane Jr., while the Leos’ already struggling offensive line will be without All-Star right tackle Dejon Allen.
It's also worth noting that these defenses are solid. The Riders have the top run defense in the CFL, holding foes to just 45.3 rushing yards per game on 3.4 yards per pop.
Although BC was gashed by Winnipeg's elite offense in Week 2, the Leos showed improvement against them last week and held Edmonton to 14 points in their season opener.
