After reaching the Grey Cup in five consecutive seasons, Mike O'Shea's unit has picked up where it left off, dominating both sides of the ball heading into Week 4.
Sporting a 2-0 record ahead of Thursday's home match against the Edmonton Elks, the Bombers boast the league's best defense, allowing just 17.0 points per game and holding quarterbacks to a 54.3% completion percentage.
Although Zach Collaros and the Winnipeg offense stalled out in the second half of last week's win over BC, they're due for a productive outing against Edmonton.
At 0-2, the Elks' defense has been a leaky valve, ranking dead-last in opponent points and net offence. Edmonton's defense also only sports one sack on the season, along with zero interceptions.
Meanwhile, the offense continues to sputter under new OC Jordan Maksymic. Tre Ford & Co. mustered up just six points through three quarters in last week's loss to Montreal, with the majority of their production coming in garbage time.
All-Star centre David Beard has also landed on the six-game IR, so the Elks O-line will have its hands full after already allowing seven sacks on the season.
Take Winnipeg to run away at home with its third consecutive double-digit win.

Edmonton's Week 3 loss to Montreal saw the Elks trailing 28-6 entering the fourth quarter, but in classic CFL fashion, they put up 22 points in the final frame to make the 38-28 final score look closer than it really was.
With Winnipeg likely to build another big second-half lead, we should see more stat-padding from Edmonton during garbage time.
