The Winnipeg Jets are in tough against the visiting Dallas Stars at the Canada Life Centre on Tuesday, December 9.

While Dallas has dismantled opponents during its 13-1-2 heater, Stars vs. Jets predictions and NHL picks expect Winnipeg to batten down the defensive hatches and keep this total Under the number tonight.

Stars vs Jets prediction

Stars vs Jets Best bet: Under 6.5 (-135)

The Winnipeg Jets have played to the Under in 28 of their last 48 home games (+8.00 Units / 15% ROI) and allowed just 2.67 goals per game compared to 3.25 on the highway this season.

So, while there are huge concerns in the ‘Peg with the Jets skidding to the tune of a 2-6-1 active record, I anticipate Winnipeg holding the red-hot Dallas Stars at least partially in check.

Of course, the Stars are also playing high-end defense with just 1.88 goals against per game during their scorching 13-1-2 streak.

The Jets have also generated the fourth-fewest expected goals per 60 minutes at 5-on-5 this season, so playing low-event hockey with particular attention to defensive detail is in their best interest tonight.

Winnipeg is healthy and has the defensive acumen to slow this game down and limit the Dallas attack, too. Additionally, while it’s been a tough go for backup goalie Eric Comrie overall, he has posted a solid .916 SV% and 2.51 GAA across his six home appearances.

Comrie recorded a .913 SV% and 2.41 GAA through his eight home starts last year, too.

Stars vs Jets same-game parlay

Jets No. 1 center Mark Scheifele has marked the scoresheet in 11 of his past 12 games for five goals and 10 assists, and his points per 60 minutes skyrockets to 4.7 at home compared to a 3.16 mark on the highway.

The final leg of this same-game parlay turns to Winnipeg winger Kyle Connor, and the high-volume shooter has recorded three or more shots in eight of his past 15 games for 45 total on 76 attempts.

While Dallas is excellent defensively, the Stars do sport a 31st-ranked Corsi For percentage and 24th-ranked shot share at 5-on-5 for the campaign.
