The Minnesota Wild are massive home favorites over the San Jose Sharks ahead of their 8 p.m. ET puck drop at the Grand Casino Arena on Friday, Nov. 6.
With San Jose sliding down the standings, my favorite Sharks vs. Wild prediction and NHL picks call for Minnesota to win comfortably tonight, thanks to stars Kirill Kaprizov and Matt Boldy.
TOP PICK
Sharks vs Wild prediction: Wild -1.5
The Minnesota Wild puck line is in play up to 53%.
There’s been no push from the San Jose Sharks across their active 1-5 skid.
San Jose has scored the fewest goals and generated the fourth-fewest expected goals per 60 minutes, while ranking 27th in Corsi For percentage and last in xGF% at 5-on-5.
On the opposite bench, Minnesota has gone 5-0-1 during the same stretch while allowing the second-fewest goals per 60 and sitting above 50% in both CF% and xGF% at 5-on-5.
Finally, this is just Minnesota's sixth home game of the season, and the Wild are 4-0-1 with an overall plus-6 goal differential and a dominant 57.3 xGF% at 5-on-5 through their first five.

Sharks vs Wild combo
With the Sharks' noted defensive shortcomings, Wild star Kirill Kaprizov is set to find the scoresheet tonight. He’s collected an assist in five of his past six games and has been on the ice with linemates Joel Eriksson Ek and Matt Boldy for an elite 67.2 xGF% at 5-on-5 and 6.22 goals per 60 minutes.
Turning to Boldy, while he’s heated up with two goals across his past three games, there’s still statistical correction coming his way. Those are his only two goals across the past nine games, despite generating 5.41 individual expected goals and 14 high-danger scoring chances.
Boldy’s 5.4% shooting percentage during the run is way below the 12.9% mark he posted across his first five seasons, so I expect better days ahead, starting with tonight.
Sharks vs Wild combo
- Wild -1.5
- Kirill Kaprizov 1+ assist
- Matt Boldy anytime goal
Sharks vs Wild player prop: Kirill Kaprizov 1+ assist
Kaprizov picking up an apple is in play up to 59%.
The Sharks have surrendered the fifth-most goals per 60 during the noted six-game stretch, and Kaprizov has been on the ice for a dominant 6.9 expected goals per 60 minutes, while his 77.3 xGF% is the second-highest mark in the NHL.
Sharks vs Wild goal scorer: Matt Boldy
I recommend Boldy to find the back of the net up to 49%.
Boldy scored 1.61 goals, with 9.71 shots and 1.25 ixGF per 60 minutes last season, and he’s down to 1.14 goals per 60 to start the year, despite his 11.8 shots and 1.63 ixGF per 60 both being above last year’s marks.
