We all know UConn head coach Dan Hurley is a lovable lunatic. At least to this writer, he is lovable. He might not be some people's cup of tea, and I am not a lot of people's cup of tea either, so maybe that's the allure.
But given how crazy Hurley is about basketball and staying motivated, this is easily a game that's been on his mind since losing the national championship in April. Michigan lost Dusty May to the NBA and returns just one starter, along with a few reserves.
So, how motivated will the Wolverines be compared to the Huskies, who return two starters, and likely have the taste of blood in their mouths? Overall, UConn returned five players from last season.
First-year head coach Mike Boynton Jr. has plenty of motivation to get his first big win as the Wolverines' new leader. But again, Hurley is a madman. This game means more to him.
Love him or hate him, he will have his boys ready to go.
This number has ticked up two points since opening. I wouldn't take this any higher than the current number, as this will likely be a slower-paced ballgame. Getting near double digits is a big ask.

Full transparency, I snagged the Under at 146.5 last night. This is my favorite look, although I think UConn should have all the motivation in the world to win this game by double digits.
However, Dan Hurley loves his boys to play hostile defense. He's not worried about his guys fouling as long as they're playing hard-nosed defense. With this being a neutral-site game, the pace of play will be interesting.
Michigan prefers a faster pace, while UConn will want this game played at a pace similar to the walkers at the mall (21+ write-up, you better have gotten that reference).
If the Huskies can establish the pace and force this game to be played on their terms, it should mess with Michigan's comfort level.
With the total dropping five points since I grabbed this play, I wouldn't go any lower than 141.5. If you need a secondary play, consider an alternate line of UConn -7.5.
