San Jose has been frustratingly inconsistent this season, but tonight's matchup against Los Angeles presents an opportunity to get back on track, so I am riding with them in my Sharks vs. Kings prediction.
The Kings have struggled at Crypto.com Arena, but come into this one as 61% favorites. The dogs are barking tonight; let's go against the grain.
Tap into my NHL picks for Wednesday, Nov. 4, and let's get to work.
TOP PICK
Sharks vs Kings prediction: Sharks
The San Jose Sharks have let me down plenty of times this season, but tonight offers a chance to right the ship against a Los Angeles Kings team that's been downright terrible on home ice.
Los Angeles enters with a 1-4 home record and has struggled to keep the puck out of its net, surrendering 3.41 goals per game. It also owns the worst offense in the NHL, ranking dead last in expected goals.
The biggest concern? The Sharks have scored just five goals over their last four games. Macklin Celebrini has also gone six straight without finding the back of the net - a bounce-back game couldn't come at a better time.
This is playable to 46%.

Sharks vs Kings combo
Celebrini in a nice get-right spot against a Kings team leaking goals. He's second in the NHL in share of possible ice time, and with the Kings owning the worst penalty kill in hockey, I'm taking him to break out of this mini two-game drought.
Meanwhile, Artemi Panarin is the do-it-all man offensively for the Kings, and although I like the Sharks in this one, they're still coughing up 3.31 goals per game.
Sharks vs Kings combo
- Sharks moneyline
- Macklin Celebrini 1+ assist
- Artemi Panarin 1+ assist
Sharks vs Kings player prop: Macklin Celebrini 1+ assist
At this price, you have to play Celebrini to record an assist. He's one of the best playmakers in the NHL, and while he's on a mini drought by his standards, I'll take him to get the job done against one of the league's worst defensive teams.
The fact he owns the second-highest share of ice time in hockey (behind Connor McDavid) just breeds confidence in this play — the volume and opportunity will be there tonight.
Sharks vs Kings goal scorer: Alex Laferriere
With Adrian Kempe sidelined, Alex Laferriere leads the Kings in expected goals. He hasn't found the back of the net in seven straight games, but the underlying numbers suggest a breakout could be coming. The opportunities are there; it's just a matter of converting them.
So let's catch this one early, as at 32%, you're getting incredible value.
