Two teams with low expectations for the 2025 NFL season will kick off on Sunday, September 7, at Lucas Oil Stadium with an AFC showdown between the Miami Dolphins and the Indianapolis Colts.

The Dolphins are coming into the season already banged up and might have some issues on both sides of the ball.

Find out who I like in my Dolphins vs. Colts predictions and NFL picks for Sunday, September 7.

Dolphins vs Colts prediction

Dolphins vs Colts Best bet: Malik Washington Under 22.5 receiving yards (-114)

In his rookie season last year, Malik Washington started extremely low with very few snaps before stepping in for an injured Jaylen Waddle and had 16 catches for 169 yards in those final four games.

However, Washington had only 10 catches for 64 yards in his other 10 games playing as the third or fourth receiver. He will start this season as the third receiver and maybe even slip down to fourth behind Tyreek Hill, Waddle, and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.

Other receiving threats, Darren Waller and Jaylen Wright, are also out this week, but that should not make a big difference for Washington. Last year, Washington had two catches for nine yards against the Indianapolis Colts — granted that was with Tyler Huntley and Tim Boyle at quarterback.

The Colts' defense is going to struggle against the run this season, and the Miami Dolphins will likely go run-heavy to take advantage here in Week 1. De’Von Achane and Ollie Gordon will see a lot of touches, and the rest will mostly be split between Hill and Waddle.

Dolphins vs Colts same-game parlay

To add to my best bet, I will also include both the Colts' moneyline and the game total over.

Both defenses are bad, but the Colts are healthier and playing at home with a big day honoring recently deceased owner Jim Irsay.

Dolphins vs Colts 3-leg SGP

  • Malik Washington Under 22.5 receiving yards
  • Colts moneyline
  • Over 46.5

Our big-ticket SGP: For the shoe

  • Let’s just add rookie tight end Tyler Warren to find the endzone to really put our same-game parlay over the top with odds.
  • Daniel Jones clearly had a solid rapport with Warren in the preseason, and you could see some quick completions against a porous Miami pass defense in the redzone.

Dolphins vs Colts 4-leg SGP

  • Malik Washington Under 22.5 receiving yards
  • Colts moneyline
  • Over 46.5
  • Tyler Warren to score a TD

Dolphins vs Colts odds

  • Spread: Dolphins -1 | Colts +1
  • Moneyline: Dolphins -115 | Colts -105
  • Over/Under: Over 46 | Under 46
