As much as college football embodies the idea that “any given Saturday” can produce any outcome, a Wisconsin Badgers upset over the Indiana Hoosiers this weekend feels highly unlikely.

Instead, my Wisconsin vs. Indiana predictions anticipate the Hoosiers piling on, though not out of any personal vendetta against the Badgers.

Kickoff comes at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, November 15, so let's get right to our college football picks.

Wisconsin vs Indiana prediction

Wisconsin vs Indiana best bet: Fernando Mendoza Over 237.5 passing yards (-114)

Indiana Hoosiers quarterback Fernando Mendoza has cleared this prop just once in his last six games, largely the result of the Hoosiers winning so decisively.

But the time has come to run up the score.

The Heisman race likely will come down to the Big Ten Championship Game, with the winner between Mendoza and Ohio State quarterback Julian Sayin likely also winning that conference title. But it would serve both Indiana and Mendoza well to tighten that race beforehand, given some narratives already arguing in favor of Sayin no matter the result.

Wisconsin will allow for Indiana and Mendoza to post some gaudy stats. The Badgers not only have the No. 112 success rate against the pass, per CFB-graphs.com, but they are also thrown against at the third-highest relative rate in the country.

More simply, opponents not only know Wisconsin is bad against the pass, but they attack it as often as possible.

In fact, just a few weeks ago, Sayin threw 42 times in a 34-0 win at Wisconsin, completing 36 of those passes for 393 yards and four touchdowns. This is a defense begging a Heisman-caliber quarterback to put up a Heisman-worthy stat line.

Wisconsin vs Indiana same-game parlay

Mendoza rushing for a touchdown in three straight games is less a product of his Heisman campaign and more simply a reflection of how thoroughly Indiana can dominate its opponents. Then again, it can be both.

As much as the Hoosiers struggled at Penn State last week, they have gone 3-1 against the spread as four-score favorites this season.

Wisconsin vs Indiana SGP

  • Fernando Mendoza Over 237.5 passing yards
  • Fernando Mendoza anytime touchdown
  • Indiana -29.5

Our deep-ball SGP: Our favorite Indy act

Indiana is primarily a national title contender because of its defense. The Hoosiers had a top-tier offense a year ago but lacked a defense to pair with it. This year’s rendition may be a Top-3 defense in the country, and it should outright shut down a Bottom 20 offense.

Adding an Elijah Sarrat touchdown is largely a nod to the best Indiana receiver missing last week’s action.

Wisconsin vs Indiana SGP

  • Fernando Mendoza Over 237.5 passing yards
  • Fernando Mendoza anytime touchdown
  • Indiana -29.5
  • Wisconsin team total Under 6.5
  • Elijah Sarrat anytime touchdown

Wisconsin vs Indiana game predictions

Wisconsin vs Indiana moneyline prediction

Don’t dream of an upset. It won't happen in this Big Ten matchup. Frankly, this game should not be broadcast on a channel as widely available as the Big Ten Network.

Wisconsin vs Indiana spread prediction

Any worry about Indiana covering this spread has to be a worry that Wisconsin may score twice. The Hoosiers should manage 35 points by default, 49 if they feel like putting in any added effort.

It is more likely than not that the Badgers will not reach the end zone at all. So 35 points from Indiana ought to suffice.

Wisconsin vs Indiana Over/Under prediction

A total as low as 43.5 when involving an offense as explosive as Indiana’s is a further reflection of how little offense Wisconsin can be trusted to offer. The Hoosiers could score 42 points in this game, and it still falls Under this paltry total.

Wisconsin vs Indiana odds

  • Spread: Wisconsin +29.5 | Indiana -29.5
  • Moneyline: Wisconsin +2500 | Indiana -10000
  • Over/Under: Over 43.5 | Under 43.5

Wisconsin vs Indiana trend to know

Wisconsin has cashed five Unders in its six Big Ten games this season, the exception being a mere push against Iowa, when the Hawkeyes won 37-0 in a game with a total of 37. Find more college football betting trends for Wisconsin vs Indiana.

He covered Notre Dame football for various outlets from 2008 to 2024, most notably spending eight seasons as NBC Sports’ beat writer on the Irish. That was also when his gambling focus took off. Knowing there were veteran beat writers with three decades more experience than he had, Douglas found his niche by best recognizing Notre Dame’s standing in each year’s national landscape, a complex tapestry most easily understood and remembered via betting odds.

In 2021, that interest created a freelance opportunity with Covers, a role that eventually led to Douglas joining the company full-time in 2023. In the fall, Douglas will place five or six dozen bets each week, a disproportionate amount via BetRivers because the operator tends to have lines slightly different than the rest of the market. The same can be said of Circa Sports’ futures markets.

While Douglas is an avid NBA fan and covers the league throughout the year, the vast majority of his bets are on college football, because that is the biggest key to sports betting: Know what you do not know.
