It’s time once again for the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, as the Georgia Bulldogs square off against the Florida Gators at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville.

Both programs enter this rivalry clash off a bye week, but their trajectories couldn’t be more different. Georgia has rebounded impressively from its loss to Alabama, rattling off three straight wins, highlighted by a dramatic fourth-quarter comeback against Mississippi. Florida, on the other hand, is entering a new chapter, taking the field for the first time since parting ways with head coach Billy Napier.

Early bettors seem to believe the Gators will find some spark in the post-Napier era, but I’m not convinced. In my Georgia vs. Florida predictions and college football picks, I’ll break down why the Bulldogs remain the better bet and why they’re poised to take control of this storied rivalry on November 1.

Georgia vs Florida prediction

Georgia vs Florida best bet: Georgia -7.5 (-105)

In a college football season where it’s been hard to determine who the real contenders are, maybe the Georgia Bulldogs are being a little overlooked.

The Bulldogs enter the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party sitting at 6-1 record, with the lone loss coming by three points to rival Alabama. They’ve won three in a row, which includes an impressive fourth-quarter comeback on the road against Mississippi last time out.

QB Gunner Stockton has improved throughout the season and is coming off arguably his best performance in the win over the Rebels. Stockton threw for 289 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions while adding another 59 yards and a score on the ground.

Led by Stockton, Georgia ranks 11th in EPA per play and 20th in offensive success rate. The question is, will that be good enough in this rivalry game?

The Florida Gators are in an interesting spot. They are coming off a bye in which they let go of head coach Billy Napier. This despite the fact they had won two of three, including a beatdown of Texas.

One of Florida’s big issues has been the development, or lack thereof, of QB DJ Lagway. The sophomore has as many interceptions (nine) as touchdowns with just 6.8 yards per attempt. As a result, Florria ranks 73rd in EPA per dropback and 77th in success rate on dropbacks.

Traditionally, teams that have just fired their coaches get a boost from the new voice. But I’m not so sure in this spot.

The one way to attack this very good Georgia defense is through the air. But it looks like Lagway has been too inefficient to take advantage of that.

Georgia’s depth and talent will become apparent as the game wears on, and the Dawgs should win this one by double-digits.

Georgia vs Florida same-game parlay

Some people call Gunner Stockton inconsistent, and perhaps he is, but he has mostly shown up for the Bulldogs in their biggest games. He threw for multiple touchdowns in Georgia’s wins over Tennessee and Mississippi.

You can throw on Florida a bit, with the Gators ranking 48th in EPA per dropback and 51st in success rate on dropbacks. At plus money, it’s worth taking a shot on Stockton to toss a couple of TD passes in this matchup.

Speaking of quarterbacks, let’s add DJ Lagway to go Over 240.5 passing yards.

Yes, he has struggled. But like Florida, you can throw on Georgia a bit, who rank 87th in success rate on dropbacks.

I also expect Florida to be trailing most of this game, meaning Lagway will have to push the ball downfield. And despite his struggles, this is a number he’s gone Over in four of his last five games.

Georgia vs Florida SGP

  • Georgia -7.5
  • Gunner Stockton Over 1.5 passing TDs
  • DJ Lagway Over 240.5 passing yards

Our deep-ball SGP: McCray Finds a Way

Josh McCray is a truck and has scored three touchdowns this season. If the Bulldogs get in close, don't be shocked if they hand it off to him a few times.

Georgia vs Florida SGP

  • Georgia -7.5
  • Gunner Stockton Over 1.5 passing TDs
  • DJ Lagway Over 240.5 passing yards
  • Josh McCray TD

Georgia vs Florida game predictions

Georgia vs Florida moneyline prediction

Things can get crazy in rivalry games, but I'm sticking with the favorite here. Georgia's talent and coaching edge will become apparent in this one. Georgia wins this game for the fifth straight season.

Georgia vs Florida spread prediction

Georgia to cover the 7.5-point spread is my best bet. When this line opened at Georgia -9.5, I thought it might go the other way. So, I'll happily take the Dawgs at this number. Georgia has won the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party four straight times, winning each by at least 13 points. I expect more of the same this season.

Georgia vs Florida Over/Under prediction

I lean Under in this matchup, because I am just unsure if Florida will be able to generate enough offense with a new playcaller to send this one Over the total.

Georgia vs Florida odds

  • Spread: Georgia -7.5 | Florida +7.5
  • Moneyline: Georgia -295 | Florida +240
  • Over/Under: Over 50.5 | Under 50.5
