After making the College Football Playoff last year, both Texas A&M and Alabama are in desperate need of a win this week, but the Crimson Tide have the advantage at home.

Alabama looks to end its two-game losing streak when the Crimson Tide host Texas A&M at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa, Ala., on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET (ABC).

The Crimson Tide are 13.5-point home favorites, and my Texas A&M vs. Alabama prediction and college football picks expect Keelon Russell to get back on track against an injury-ravaged Aggies team.

 TOP PICK
Who will win Texas A&M vs Alabama: Alabama -13.5

Although Alabama is coming off two straight regular-season losses for the first time since 2007, I like the Crimson Tide to cover up to -16.5 against this underachieving Texas A&M squad.

Against quality opponents this season, the Aggies have no-showed. In three games against teams ranked top 50 by SP+, Texas A&M has been outscored by an average of 31-11 and failed to cover in each of those three games. The Crimson Tide are ranked No. 12 by SP+.

Quarterback Marcel Reed has been particularly terrible in those matchups for the Aggies, finishing with an adjusted completion percentage below 60% in all three and a TD-to-interception ratio of 1:5.

Texas A&M won’t score enough to cover on the road against an Alabama team that needs a huge game. I ranked this game outside the top five most watchable in my Week 8 Top 25 predictions because I don’t see the Aggies coming to play on the road.

Covers COVERS INTEL: In its last five games, Texas A&M is 1-4 ATS and has been outscored in two SEC road games against LSU and Missouri, 62-12. Like those two teams, Alabama is ranked top 25 nationally in net adjusted EPA per play.

Texas A&M vs Alabama Over/Under pick: Over 50.5

Alabama has been one of the best Over teams in the country this season. The Crimson Tide are 5-2 to the Over, and hit it in all five matchups against defenses ranked outside the top 25 by SP+. Texas A&M is ranked outside the top 30 on defense, and I like the Tide to do the bulk of the scoring to hit the Over at 51.5 or better.

In Keelon Russell’s previous three games against defenses ranked outside the top 25 by SP+, he accounted for 13 total touchdowns and finished with a QBR of 96.2 or better in all three. Even without Ryan Coleman-Williams, he should keep Alabama’s offense, which is ranked top 25 in offensive success rate (50.1%), humming against a lower-tier defense.

As for the Aggies, Alabama’s defense has been sporadic enough this season to give up 17+ points against this Texas A&M offense. If the Aggies put 17 on the board, the Over will be in good shape.

Our college football AI predictions also lean Alabama -13.5 and the Over 50.5, projecting a 34-17 Crimson Tide win.

Texas A&M vs Alabama combo

Alabama has been a force against teams with poor defenses, and Texas A&M has been blown out against quality SEC teams. Even with the Crimson Tide losing their last two games, they shouldn’t struggle against a team with massive problems in the trenches.

The Aggies’ defense has been non-existent against SEC teams with talented quarterbacks, and their injuries in the front seven should only make it easier for Alabama to run away with this game.

Once Texas A&M is down in the second half, it’s going to struggle to throw its way back into this game, especially late. Not only has Reed struggled, but two of his top three receivers are banged up.
