Who will win Virginia Tech vs Clemson: Virginia Tech +2.5 -
No need to worry about Big Game James (Franklin) trickling down his pants in this one, folks. This is not your older brother’s Clemson Tigers team anymore. Sure, they're 4-2 this season, but they’re 2-4 against the spread, and in this writer’s eyes, they should be 1-5.
The Tigers’ win over the Tar Heels is a little overrated. Clemson was up 21-20 with one minute to play before scoring a 34-yard touchdown. The Tigers could have run out the clock, and the Tar Heels should have covered.
Neither team has a particularly impressive resume this season, but Virginia Tech’s biggest draw in this matchup is that it has nothing else to look forward to right now.
Following this game, the Hokies have a 13-day break to prepare for a road matchup against SMU. Franklin and his team can focus entirely on this week and make a statement against one of the ACC’s longtime top dogs.
