Georgia vs Auburn Prediction, Picks & Odds for October 11 — College Football Week 7

Georgia's pass defense is its clearest weakness, and Auburn should lean on Jackson Arnold's arm enough for him to clear a modest passing yards prop.

The Georgia Bulldogs bounced back from their loss to Alabama with a workman-like effort over Kentucky. If the Bulldogs want to turn that into a winning streak, they’re going to have to contain Jackson Arnold.

Despite a 0-2 start in conference play, the Auburn Tigers' signal-caller has been solid, and my Georgia vs. Auburn predictions highlight his passing prowess.

So, check out that and my other college football picks for this SEC clash, with kickoff slated for 7:30 pm ET at Jordan-Hare Stadium this Saturday, October 11.

Georgia vs Auburn prediction

Georgia vs Auburn best bet: Jackson Arnold Over 173.5 passing yards (-114)

The Georgia Bulldogs responded from their tough loss to Alabama by taking care of business against Kentucky, winning last week’s matchup 35-14, covering a 20-point spread in the process.

But there was still something concerning about that win. The Bulldogs allowed a Wildcats team that had been inept at throwing the football to pass for 225 yards and two touchdowns.

That has been a recurring theme for Georgia this season. We saw it in the loss to Alabama with Ty Simpson, and we saw it in the near loss to Tennessee with Joey Aguilar. You can throw it around on this Dawgs secondary.

As a result, Georgia ranks 96th in the country in defensive success rate on dropbacks.

Enter Jackson Arnold and the Auburn Tigers.

War Eagle is coming off consecutive tough losses, dropping one-possession decisions to Oklahoma and Texas A&M, both on the road. Arnold, a dual-threat QB, has been solid in those matchups, throwing for 345 yards while completing 60% of his passes. And while he’s thrown just one touchdown, he’s also not thrown a pick.

Now, Auburn returns home for this matchup against Georgia. The Tigers love running the football, but they know the way to beat the Dawgs is through the air. And Arnold has a pair of elite wide receivers in Eric Singleton Jr. and Cam Coleman.

Arnold will lean on those two, allowing him to go Over a modest passing yards prop sitting at 173.5.

Georgia vs Auburn same-game parlay

Coleman is coming off a tough outing against Texas A&M, where he caught just 4 of 8 targets for 18 yards in the loss. But Coleman is supremely talented, and I like him to bounce back here.

He has 17 catches for 255 yards and two scores this season and can take one to the house on any play. Arnold will need him to be at his best if they want to have a shot at upsetting Georgia, and I think he ultimately finds the end zone.

The other thing that Auburn has going for it is its defensive front, led by Keldric Faulk. The Tigers excel at stopping the run, ranking second in opponent EPA per rush and third in defensive success rate vs. the rush.

That means Gunn1r Stockton will have to beat the Tigers, and I’m still not convinced he’s a great quarterback. He’s thrown for just 326 yards with two touchdowns and one interception over the last two weeks.

Auburn will shut down the Dawgs run game and pressure Stockton enough to keep this game close.
