Expert Week 7 CFB ATS picks

South Florida (-1.5) vs North Texas: South Florida South Florida -1.5

This spread opened as high as UNT -2.5 and has already crossed the fence to USF -1.5. There's nothing in UNT's resume to suggest the Mean Green should have been favored in the first place, so I'm siding with the movement.

Ohio State (-14.5) vs Illinois: Ohio State Ohio State -14.5

Covering spreads has come easy for Ohio State thus far, doing so in four of five games and covering by an average margin of 13.1 points in those four covers. More of the same is coming in Champaign.

Alabama (-3.5) vs Missouri: Alabama Alabama -3.5

Alabama has come a very long way since losing to FSU, and while Missouri remains undefeated, I don't see the Tide slipping up.

Oklahoma vs Texas (-2.5): Oklahoma Oklahoma +2.5

The latest news suggests Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer could be returning this week. That gives the Sooners the edge against a preseason No. 1 Texas squad that's suddenly staring 3-3 in the face.

Indiana vs Oregon (-7.5): Oregon Oregon -7.5

For as good as Indiana has looked at times this season, there's still a gap between the Hoosiers and the Big Ten's elite programs. That will manifest itself in Eugene this weekend.

Florida vs Texas A&M (-7.5): Florida Florida +7.5

It took more than three quarters for Texas A&M to put Mississippi State away last week, and it certainly feels like a vintage slip-up is coming.

Kansas vs Texas Tech (-13.5): Texas Tech Texas Tech -13.5

In back-to-back road wins over Utah and Houston, Texas Tech averaged 34.5 points per game on offense and gave up 10.5 on defense. Those muscles will get flexed ever harder at home.

Georgia (-3.5) vs Auburn: Auburn Auburn +3.5

Don't let a 3-2 record that includes two tight road losses fool you; Auburn is a good football team. Georgia has been far from perfect, and I expect a close game in front of a raucous Jordan-Hare.

Michigan vs USC (-2.5): Michigan Michigan +2.5

Michigan outgained Wisconsin by nearly 200 yards in a pedestrian 24-10 win and averaged 7.2 yards per play. Illinois made USC look inferior, and the signs point to a second loss this week.

South Carolina vs LSU (-8.5): South Carolina South Carolina +8.5

LSU's offense being in such flux makes it incredibly hard for me to imagine a double-digit victory here. The Tigers are 1-3 ATS since beating Clemson, while South Carolina has covered in two straight.

BYU (-1.5) vs Arizona: Arizona Arizona +1.5

This is a BYU team that had to come back to win by three as a 6.5-point favorite at Colorado. Give me Noah Fifita and the Wildcats at home in a close one.
